*Wuli Xiaoshi* records: The entire body of the tiger can be used as medicine, but the materia medica does not record the efficacy of Tiger Oil. I obtained tiger oil from hunters to apply to "Lali sores" (a type of skin ulceration), which healed in one or two applications.
For treating severe injuries from beating where the patient is near death, unable to eat or drink, and suffering from constipation and urinary retention, this indicates blood stasis obstructing the heart region, with life hanging by a thread. This prescription may be used: Tiger Gallbladder (Hu Dan) 5 fen, remove the outer skin, grind finely into powder using aged yellow wine in a bowl; Poria (Bai Fuling) 2 qian, grind into powder, mix with hot aged wine and administer orally. If the stasis is expelled, death can be avoided.
Prescription for shattered skull cap from beating: Use 1 liang of Tiger Fat (Hu Zhi), soak it in good quality hot wine until fully dissolved, then take orally. The treatment is considered effective when sweating occurs. If the affected area turns blue/black, it is incurable.
Excellent prescription for regurgitation/vomiting without medication: 8 liang of Tiger Fat (Hu Zhi), 1 jin of clear oil, soak in a clay jar for one month, seal tightly to prevent leakage; each time use 1 liang of oil... [Text cuts off here]
Note: Although *Bencao Gangmu* records the uses of Tiger Gallbladder (Hu Dan) and Tiger Fat (Hu Zhi), it does not mention their application in traumatic injuries. These two prescriptions come from the empirical records of the Hua family in Xishan and have been tested successfully multiple times; thus, this supplement is provided for emergency use.

In Li Shizhen's *Bencao Gangmu*, under the Deer entry, deer essence, marrow, sinew, gallbladder, fetus, and feces are all comprehensively recorded. Zhang Lu, in *Benjing Fengyuan*, lists a separate entry for Deer Fetus (Lu Tai), providing detailed analysis that is worth adopting. It is recorded here to fill the omission. Zhang Lu states: A fetal deer whose snout, tail, and hooves are indistinguishable from those of an adult deer is genuine. Those with pale color and thin build are Deer Fetus (Lu Tai). If the color is dark and the build is fat, it is Elk Fetus (Mi Tai); do not mistake them, as doing so can damage true Yang Qi. Additionally, Cheek Fetus (Zhang Tai) resembles Deer Fetus but is bright white, and its lower lip is not longer than its upper lip like that of a deer. Fetuses of other miscellaneous beasts are generally dissimilar to Deer Fetus. For medicinal use, select the genuine product and roast with butter until yellow.
Flavor and nature: Sweet, warm, non-toxic. The deer nature tonifies Yang and benefits essence; it is suitable for men with deficiency of true Yuan Qi. Not only are antlers, horns, stems, and fetuses used as medicine, but Quanlu Wan (Complete Deer Pill) combined with large doses of Ginseng (Shen), Astragalus (Qi), Cinnamon Twig (Gui), and Aconite Root (Fu) greatly strengthens Yuan Yang. Since the Deer Fetus retains pure Yang Qi unscattered, it is an excellent agent for nourishing innate truth and benefiting the "fire of vitality" (Shao Huo). However, it must be assisted by herbs such as Ginseng (Shen), Astragalus (Qi), and Placenta Humanis (Heche) to be particularly effective. For those with chronic deficiency-cold and insufficiency of the lower Yuan, adding it to Liuwei Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia) makes it a key medicine for warming and tonifying essence and blood, without the risk of Yin injury caused by the acrid-hot nature of Cinnamon Twig (Gui) and Aconite Root (Fu). One must strictly avoid using Elk Fetus (Mi Tai), as it would instead damage the Tian Yuan (Heavenly Origin) Yang Qi.
