(From *Bie Lu* [Separate Record])
[Correction] Previously listed together with Apis Ceranae Cocoon (Bee Larvae) in the same entry; now separated.
[Names] Feiling (from *Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing*), Feng (pronounced "Dan").
Su Song stated: Guo Pu, in his commentary on *Er Ya*, wrote: "In the Jiangdong region today, large bees that build nests underground are called Tu Feng (Earth Bee), which is the hornet." In the Jing and Ba regions, it is called Feng.
[Collected Explanations] *Bie Lu* states: Tu Feng lives in the valleys of Wudu.
Li Canger stated: Tu Feng dwells in burrows and builds nests; it is red-black in color, the largest in size, its sting can be fatal to humans, yet it can also produce honey, and its larvae are large and white.
Su Song stated: The larvae of Tu Feng are also eaten by people in Jiangdong. There is also Mu Feng (Wood Bee) similar to Tu Feng, whose larvae are also consumed by people. Thus, the larvae of Apis cerana (Honey Bee), Tu Feng, Mu Feng, and Vespula (Yellow Jacket) are all edible. Generally speaking, bee species belong to the same family, and their properties and effects are not far apart.
Feng (Adult Earth Bee/Hornet)

Take one qian per dose, swallowed with good wine on an empty stomach.
