[Names] Li Shizhen states: Silk fabric woven from white silk threads is long and narrow like a towel, hence the character "Bo" (Silk Fabric) consists of "Bai" (White) and "Jin" (Towel). Thick silk is called "Zeng" (Thick Silk), and double-thread silk is called "Jian" (Fine Double-Thread Silk). Later generations used dyed silk threads to produce five-colored silks.
[Indications] Feibo (Crimson Silk Fabric): Burned to ash and powdered, applied to swelling and pain at the umbilicus before it falls off in newborns; also treats severe sores, carbuncles, and all ulcers with deep roots, serving as an excellent ingredient in plasters. Take one piece of Feibo the size of a palm, mix it in equal parts with Apiapis Ceranae Nidus (Honeycomb), Acaciae Spina (Acacia Thorn), rotten grass segments, and tangled hair, burn them to ash, powder them, and take orally on an empty stomach with a cup of water for one Cunbi dose (Chen Cangqi). It treats injuries from falling off horses and all kinds of bone and tendon damage (Kou Zongshi). Burned to ash and powdered, it treats metrorrhagia (uterine bleeding), traumatic bleeding from metal wounds, and Baibofeng (Vitiligo) (Li Shizhen).
Wusebo (Five-Colored Silk Fabric): Treats night sweats; after wiping dry, discard it by the roadside (Chen Cangqi).
[Prescriptions] One new prescription. Feimai Yinzhen (Flesh-pulse Urticaria/Rash): Wipe the affected area with silk fabric from a family surnamed Cao until healed. (*Qianjin Fang*)

[Names] Li Shizhen states: There are hemp cloth, silk cloth, and cotton cloth. The character "Bu" (Cloth) is composed of "Shou" (Hand) and "Jin" (Towel), forming a compound ideogram.
[Indications] Xinmabu (New Hemp Cloth): Can expel blood stasis; treats amenorrhea with abdominal pain in women and postpartum blood pain. Wrap one He of white salt in several layers of new hemp cloth, grind it, and take it with warm wine. Jiumabu (Old Hemp Cloth): Mix in equal parts with Ecliptae Herba (Eclipta Grass), seal in a bottle with mud, and grind. Use daily to brush teeth to strengthen teeth and blacken hair (Li Shizhen).
Baibu (White Cloth): Treats tightness and narrowing of the lips, preventing opening and closing for eating. If untreated, it can be fatal. Make a large moxa cone from white cloth, place it on a knife or axe, burn until sweat appears, wipe and apply to the affected area, three to five times a day. Additionally, burn Qingbu (Blue Cloth) to ash and take with wine (Li Shizhen).
Qingbu (Blue Cloth): Resolves various toxins; treats epidemic febrile diseases causing irritability and toxicity, childhood alternating chills and fever, and erysipelas. Soak in water, extract the juice, and drink. Mix the soaking juice with fresh ginger juice to stop cholera-like vomiting and diarrhea. Burn to ash and apply to chronic severe sores that have not healed for years, and to stop bleeding from moxibustion wounds, preventing wind and water infection. Smoke from burning is used to fumigate coughs to kill parasites; it is also used to fumigate bites from tigers and wild wolves, helping to drain toxic fluids. Added to various plasters to treat carbuncles, fox urine sores, and other severe ulcers (Chen Cangqi). Burn to ash, take with wine, to treat cracked lips with sores and bad breath. Still, mix with fat/oil for topical application; its efficacy is similar to Indigo Naturalis (Lan Dian) (Li Shizhen).
[Prescriptions] Two old prescriptions, six new ones.
Severe sores protected from water: Burn Qingbu mixed with wax in a smoke tube to fumigate; the skin will not rot upon contact with water. (Chen Cangqi, *Bencao Shiyi*)
Sores injured by wind and water: Burn Qingbu to produce smoke in a container, fumigate the sore with the container's mouth. When foul fluid discharges and pain/itching sensation returns, it heals. (Chen Cangqi, *Bencao Shiyi*)
Ulcerated and rotting sores: Chen Ai (Aged Mugwort) 5 qian, Xiong Huang (Realgar) 2 qian. Roll Qingbu into a large moxa cone, ignite, and fumigate the lesion. Flush with hot water several times to heal. (Deng Bifeng, *Zaxing Fang*)
Cholera with muscle cramps: When spasms enter the abdomen and seem hopeless. Boil Qingbu in vinegar, apply as a compress. Replace when cold. (*Qianjin Fang*)
Severe Yang-toxin typhoid with mania and confusion: Soak one chi of Qingbu in cold water and apply to the chest. (*Huo Ren Shu*)
Eye pain, grittiness, and inability to sleep: Heat Qingbu by roasting, apply as a hot compress to the eyes at appropriate times, and use steamed soybeans as a pillow. (*Qianjin Fang*)
Red eyes after illness - same method as above: *Qianjin Fang*: Soak Qingbu in cold water, cover the eyes, and change frequently.
