[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: "Huainanzi Wanbi Shu" records that applying ox bile to a hot cauldron causes the cauldron to ring. Applying ox bile to Cinnamon Twig (Guizhi) leads to unknown transformations. The annotation states it can alter human form. For details, see this book. The Goulou Stele records that frogs cease croaking upon receiving ox bile. These are all instances of mutual restraint.

Male Genital Coldness: Place edible Zanthoxylum (Shizhu Yu) inside an ox gallbladder, dry in shade for one hundred days. Take fourteen pieces each time, chew thoroughly, and insert into the genital area. After a while, a burning sensation occurs. (From Qianjin Fang)

[Invention] Li Shizhen stated: Ox throat treats infantile stridor and regurgitation/vomiting, based on the principle of sympathetic magic (taking similarity). According to Puji Fang: When both medicine and food cannot be swallowed, and the colon is blocked for three to five or even seven to eight days with no bowel movement, death is inevitable. Previously, Chan Master Zhou of Quanzhou encountered a strange man who cured eight or nine patients. A gentleman should collect this formula to save lives. Use one water buffalo throat, remove the joints at both ends along with tendons, membranes, fat, and meat. Remove layer by layer like slices of donkey-hide gelatin (Ejiao) and store. When needed, roast over fire, soak in one cup of rice vinegar, roast dry, quench in vinegar again, repeat until vinegar is exhausted. Grind into powder, store wrapped in thick paper. Each time, use one cup of water and two qian of powder, boil hot, hold in mouth, and spit out when cool. For loose teeth, rub with powder. This also follows the principle of similarity.
