Li Shizhen said: It is also written as "Kun" (Kun, close-fitting underwear). Because it is made from a whole piece of folded fabric, it is called "Kun". The part that covers the hidden areas is called "Dang" (crotch), the sewn part is called "Ku" (trousers), and the short style is called "Dubin" (Calf's Nose). "Dubin" is also an acupoint name, located below the knee.
[Indications] The liquid from washing Kun: Can detoxify poison arrows and treat Nulaofu (female relapse after sexual intercourse following illness) (from *Mingyi Bie Lu* [Record of Famous Physicians]). For treating Yinyang Yi disease (Yin-Yang Exchange Disease), burn it into ash and ingest. Also, take the garments of the woman with whom the patient had intercourse and cover the patient with them (from Li Canger). It primarily treats Nulaodan (jaundice caused by female labor/sexual exhaustion) and Zhong'e Guiwu (sudden attack by evil spirits/demonic influence) (Li Shizhen).
[Elucidation] Li Shizhen said: According to Zhang Zhongjing: For Yinyang Yi disease, characterized by heavy body, shortness of breath, urgency and tightness in the lower abdomen, or traction causing spasms in the genitalia, heat rushing up to the chest, heaviness of the head making one unwilling to lift it, visual disturbances like seeing flowers, and spasms/tightness in the knees and calves, use Shaokun San (Burnt Kun Powder) as the primary treatment. Take the fabric from the middle near the hidden area, burn it into ash, and administer with water using a Fangcunbi (a measure approx. 2.7 cm square) each time, three times a day. When urination becomes smooth and the glans penis/vulva swells slightly, the patient will recover. Use for men what was used by women, and for women what was used by men.
Cheng Wuji explained: This method is used to guide and release Yin Qi.
[Attached Formulas] Four new formulas.
For severe metal wounds accompanied by fright: Use old inner garments of a woman, roast them until hot, and apply as a compress to the affected area. (Li Quan, *Taibai Yinjing* [White Tiger's Secret Manual])
For retained placenta: Cover the well mouth with the Kun of the woman herself. Or cover the stove with the clothes she was wearing. (*Qianjin Fang* [Essential Prescriptions Worth a Thousand Gold])
For Huangbing (Yellow Disease) caused by sexual exhaustion: Heavy body, insomnia, eyes red as cinnabar, subepigastric mass resembling Jia (abdominal mass), ten deaths for every one survival. It is suitable to first cauterize the Shangwan (CV13) and Xinshu (BL15) acupoints, then cauterize under the tongue, and moxa the Guanyuan (CV4) acupoint for one hundred Zhuang. Burn the woman's inner garment into ash, and take two Qian with wine. (*Sanshiliu Huangfang* [Formulas for Thirty-Six Yellow Diseases])
Sudden fainting due to demonic attack, limbs curled and cold, bleeding from mouth and nose. Use long-soiled urine-stained underwear burned into ash. Take two Qian per dose, washed down with boiling water. Use for men what was used by women, and for women what was used by men.

[Names] Zhongdan (Inner Single Garment) (from *Bencao Gangmu*), Handang (Sweat Crotch), Xiutan (Shameful Exposure).
Li Shizhen said: In ancient times, short jackets were called Shan (Shirt); now, long garments are also called Shan. Wang Rui's *Zhiguzi* says: When King Han fought against Xiang Yu, his sweat soaked through his Zhongdan, so it was renamed Hanshan (Sweat Shirt). Liu Xi's *Shiming* says: Sweat garments were called Ze in the *Book of Songs*, meaning receiving the moisture of sweat. Some call it Bitan, others Xiutan. Cut from six chi of cloth, sufficient to cover the chest and back. Because it is worn out of shame regarding exposure, this garment is thus named. Furthermore, because it covers the chest in front and the back behind, it is called Handang.
[Indications] Sudden attack by evil ghost qi, sudden collapse with loss of consciousness, cold extremities, clear blood flowing from mouth and nose, or twisting and cutting pain in the chest, hypochondrium, and abdomen, resembling the sensation of being struck by ghosts, where massage is contraindicated, or vomiting blood and epistaxis.
