[Daizheshi]
The qi is cold. The flavor is bitter. It is non-toxic. It primarily treats Guizhu (a chronic wasting disease often caused by spiritual factors or infectious diseases), Zeifeng (pathogenic winds that are irregular), and Guduo (diseases caused by parasites or poisoning). It kills spirits, evil ghosts, clears toxic pathogenic qi in the intestines, and treats women with red leukorrhea and metrorrhagia (bleeding between periods or prolonged bleeding). (Processing method: Quench in vinegar after heating to redness)
Daizheshi has a cold qi, inheriting the cold water qi of winter from nature, entering the Foot Shaoyin Kidney Meridian. Its flavor is bitter and non-toxic, acquiring the fire flavor of the south from the earth, entering the Hand Shaoyin Heart Meridian. Both its qi and flavor descend; it belongs to Yin. Heaven and Earth are the forms of Yin and Yang; Water and Fire are the functions of Yin and Yang. The Kidney is Kan Water; Daizheshi's cold qi benefits the Kidney, causing the Yang Qi within the Kidney Water to ascend. The Heart is Li Fire; Daizheshi's bitter flavor benefits the Heart, causing the Yin Qi within the Heart Fire to descend. When Water ascends and Fire descends, Yin and Yang hide within their respective dwellings, and the positions of Heaven and Earth are established. Therefore, Guizhu, pathogenic qi, spirits, evil ghosts, Zeifeng, and toxic pathogens cannot interfere with the body. Even if pathogens invade, they will surely be expelled. Cold nature clears heat; bitter nature drains pathogens. Thus, it also treats Guduo and toxic pathogens in the abdomen. The Kidney governs urination and defecation; the Heart governs blood. Heat in the blood leads to red leukorrhea and metrorrhagia. Bitter and cold properties clear Heart Fire, allowing Heart and Kidney to interact, thus treating women's red leukorrhea and metrorrhagia.
Prescription:
Daizheshi combined with Xuanfuhua (Inulae Flos), Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), Shengjiang (Zingiberis Recens Rhizoma), Dazao (Jujubae Fructus), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) is named Xuanfu Daizhe Tang (Inula and Hematite Decoction). It treats post-typhoid conditions following sweating, vomiting, or purging, characterized by epigastric fullness and hardness, and persistent belching. Ground into fine powder, taken with Zhenjin Tang (True Gold Decoction), it treats pediatric convulsive disorders.
[Ziyingshi]
The qi is warm. The flavor is sweet. It is non-toxic. It primarily treats cough and rebellious qi due to pathogenic factors in the heart and abdomen, tonifies deficiencies. It treats women whose uterus is invaded by Wind-Cold, resulting in infertility for ten years. Long-term use warms the Middle Jiao, lightens the body, and prolongs life. (Processing method: Quench in vinegar after heating to redness)
Ziyingshi has a warm qi, inheriting the mild Wood qi of spring from nature, entering the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian. Its flavor is sweet and non-toxic, acquiring the central Earth flavor from the earth, entering the Foot Taiyin Spleen Meridian. Both its qi and flavor ascend; it belongs to Yang. The heart and abdomen are areas traversed by the Foot Taiyin Meridian. If Lung Qi is deficient and fails to generate Metal (Note: Text implies Lung deficiency affecting descent), and the Lung loses its descending function, pathogenic qi rebels upward causing cough. Ziyingshi, with its sweet flavor and heavy substance, benefits Spleen Earth and directs rebellious Qi downward, thus treating cough. "Tonifying deficiency" refers to: Warm qi tonifies insufficiency of Liver Qi; sweet flavor tonifies insufficiency of Spleen Yin. The Jueyin meridian connects to the genitalia, so the uterus also belongs to the Liver Meridian. The Liver is the meridian where two Yins meet, belonging to the Wind-Wood organ. If Wind-Cold is in the uterus, Liver Blood cannot be stored, and Spleen Blood cannot control it, leading to inability to conceive. The generative number of Spleen Earth includes ten, hence infertility for ten years. Ziyingshi's warm qi can disperse Wind-Cold in the uterus; its sweet flavor can benefit Liver and Spleen Blood. "Zhong" refers to the Central Earth (Spleen). Long-term use of sweet and warm substances benefits Spleen Qi, thus warming the Middle. When Liver Wood flows smoothly and Spleen Earth functions vigorously, the body becomes light and life is prolonged.
Prescription:
Ziyingshi combined with Baiwei (Cynanchi Atrati Radix), Aiye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Baijiao (Echini Corneum / Donkey-hide Gelatin - Note: Context suggests Ejiao), Dangguishen (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Shanzhuyu (Corni Fructus), Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma), and Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma) treats female infertility. Combined with Longchi (Draconis Os), Muli (Ostreae Concha), Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), Beiweizi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), and Paojiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Preparatum), it treats pediatric convulsive disorders.
