Treats hemiplegia and bi-syndrome caused by wind-stroke, with unblocked meridians and collaterals, weak hands and feet, and soreness and pain in the arms and knees. When wind-pathogen syndrome first occurs and the pulse is not surging and rapid, it is appropriate to take this medicine first.

Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata, 2 pieces, processed, peel and umbilicus removed) Muxiang (Costi Rhizoma, 2 qian)

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 3 qian per dose, add 1.5 zhan of water and 10 slices of fresh ginger, decoct until 1 zhan remains, take warm before meals.

Treats sudden wind-stroke in men and women, causing deviation of the mouth and eyes. (One Zong provides two formulas.)

Nanxing (Arisaemae Rhizoma, 1 piece) Baiji (Bletillae Rhizoma, 1 qian) Caowutou (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix, 1 piece) Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus, 7 pieces)

Grind all the above raw ingredients into a fine powder, mix with blood from a live eel, apply to the deviated side. Once facial symmetry is restored, wash off with warm water, then take the following cooling formula: Tianma Wan.

Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma, 2.5 qian, remove seedlings) Gualougen (Trichosanthis Radix) Yujin (Curcumae Longae Rhizoma) Fangfeng (Saposhnikoviae Radix, remove radix head) Mayaxiao (Natrii Sulfas) Tianzhuhuang (Calami Tinctura) Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle). Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder, add a small amount of Shexiang (Moschus) and Naozi (Borneolum Syntheticum), bind with refined honey to make pills. Each liang of powder makes 10 pills. Take one pill per dose, chew thoroughly, and swallow with Zi Su Tang (Perillae Folium Decoction).

Treats acute wind-stroke with deviation of the mouth and eyes.

Nanxing (Arisaemae Rhizoma) in any quantity, grind into a fine powder, mix with natural juice of fresh ginger, spread on paper and apply as a patch. (If left-sided deviation, apply to right; if right-sided, apply to left.) Wash off once facial symmetry is restored.

Treats deviation of the mouth and eyes.

Baifuzi (Typhonii Rhizoma) Baijiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) Quanxie (Scorpio). Remove toxicity. Equal parts, all used raw.

Grind the above ingredients into a fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, mix with hot wine to swallow, at any time.

Treats Eight Winds and Five Bi syndromes, with weakness in hands and feet, difficulty walking, weak legs and knees, and joint pain. Long-term use tonifies the Liver Meridian, nourishes the Kidney Water, harmonizes Qi and Blood, promotes circulation of Ying and Wei, tonifies deficiency and expels pathogens, greatly benefiting True Qi.

Hujinggu (Pantheris Ossis Tibialis - *Note: Modern usage restricted/illegal, translated historically*), roasted with butter until charred, 2.5 liang Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), processed, peel and umbilicus removed, 1.5 liang Chuanwutou (Aconiti Kusnezoffii Radix), processed, peel, umbilicus, and tip removed, 1.5 liang [Text fragment: skin, finely chopped, stir-fried broken] [Text fragment: baked] Jinmaogouji (Cibotii Rhizoma), fire-burned to remove hairs Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), remove radix head Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma), remove seedlings.

Chop the above ingredients to the size of hemp seeds, place in a raw silk bag, soak in 2 dou of pure rice wine without ash. Seal the bottle mouth tightly. Soak for 5 days in spring, 3 days in summer, 7 days in autumn [Text cuts off]. Take 2 large qian, mix with hot wine to swallow.
