The symptoms manifest as the patient rushing directly into open fields, running and jumping restlessly. Immediately administer a mixture of cool water and prepared herbal medicine orally. Treatment must involve walking to promote Qi circulation; sitting is prohibited. There are also cases where burying the head in wet soil allows the scent of earth to cure the condition.
The symptom presents as abdominal pain with rolling on the ground. First, puncture three points on the abdomen, then one point on the crown of the head, and three points on the soles of the feet; this leads to recovery.
The symptoms include abdominal distension and pain, headache, nausea (or irritability), and possibly purple or yellow spots on the anterior or posterior chest. Puncture these spots and rub them with vinegar. If the entire body is numb without such marks, it is still this disease. Puncture the blue veins at the wrist and ankle to release dark blood, then administer boiled water mixed with stir-fried salt for oral intake; recovery follows. Adding three slices of ginger to the water is also effective.
The symptom is inability to speak. Strike the Baihui point (GV20) on the top of the head with a shoe sole dipped in cool water. If a pregnant woman suffers from this, part the hair at the crown and gently pat the area with a hand dipped in cool water; she will recover.
The symptom manifests as the patient butting their head against the ground and rolling around. First, puncture the root of the tongue. Then, excluding the thumb, puncture the thin skin covering the nail bed of each of the remaining eight fingers once, twist to release foul blood, and wash the wrists with water from a pig trough; recovery ensues.
The symptoms include black, purple, and swollen lips, sore and swollen throat, or distension in the chest and diaphragm. Prick the eyebrows and temporal regions (the character "xu" [beard] is suspected to be a typo for "bin" [temples]); seeing blood indicates recovery. Alternatively, prick the center of both shoulders. (This sentence is suspected to contain an error.)
The symptoms present as abdominal fullness or pain. Prick around the navel, then prick the lower abdomen three or four times; recovery follows.
The symptoms include headache and violent rolling of the head. Tie the head tightly with a strap, then prick the areas around the eyebrows, eye corners, throat hollows, and the center of the crown; recovery follows. Avoid wind exposure for three days. (The "eye corner" refers to the outer canthus.)
The symptoms resemble sleepiness with eyes and eyebrows unopened, pain and distension upon turning, and pain during breathing. The treatment involves pricking the root of the coccyx until blood appears; recovery follows.
The symptoms include reddening of the whole body, or red-black-purple spots on the anterior and posterior chest, headache, and hypochondriac distension. Prick six points in the axilla and induce sweating with one puncture; recovery follows. (There are suspected missing characters above and below the character "fa" [induce sweat].) Bathing with water boiled with Amaranthus seeds is very beneficial.
The symptoms include headache, dry heaving or vomiting, loss of appetite, retroflexion of the head, profuse sweating, open-mouthed chaotic shouting, and delirium. Pricking the throat hollows and the anterior and posterior chest points leads to recovery.
