The hip bone (Guān Gǔ), also known as the coxal bone, is referred to as the "ke gu" (condylar bone). If one has previously been affected by wind-cold-dampness pathogens and subsequently suffers a fall or blow, blood stasis may congeal, leading to swelling, hardness, and everted tendons. The foot cannot walk straight; if the tendons are shortened, the toes touch the ground; if the bones are displaced, the buttocks protrude, and walking is slanted. Manual manipulation should be used to reduce the hip bone, bringing the everted tendons forward into their proper position, thereby eliminating the ailment. It is advisable to take Jiawei Jianbu Huqian Wan (Modified Tiger-Hiding Pill for Strengthening Steps), fumigate and wash with Haitongpi Decoction (Phellodendri Bark Decoction), and apply moxibustion and hot compresses using Dingtong San (Pain-Relieving Powder).
Jiawei Jianbu Huqian Wan (Modified Tiger-Hiding Pill for Strengthening Steps): Specifically treats pain in the lower back, hips, knees, and legs, accompanied by soreness, weakness, and difficulty walking, resulting from qi and blood deficiency after trauma. Taking this medicine for one hundred days relaxes the tendons, relieves pain, invigorates blood, tonifies qi, and revitalizes spirit.

Huantiao (GB30, Ring Jump) is the depression on the lateral side of the hip bone, shaped like a mortar, which accommodates the upper end of the femur, which resembles a pestle. This joint is called "ji" (mechanism), also known as "bisu" (thigh pivot), corresponding to the location of the Huantiao acupoint. It may suffer displacement due to falls or blows, or from hanging feet on stirrups, causing the pivot to dislocate and protrude, resulting in cyanosis, swelling, pain, inability to walk, or difficulty walking with a tilted posture. It is advisable to first take Zhenggu Zijin Dan (Orthopedic Purple-Gold Pill), wash with Haitongpi Decoction, apply Wanling Plaster, and regularly take Jianbu Huqian Wan (Tiger-Hiding Pill for Strengthening Steps).
