Professor Zhao obtained this prescription from a doctor in Quanzhou, and it has yielded miraculous results upon repeated use. The following three prescriptions are to be used sequentially:
Sesame Oil (4 liang, boiled until it boils one or two times), Stone Crab (1 piece, calcined, quenched with rice vinegar, calcined again when just turning black, crushed into powder), Fangfeng (Fangfeng Radix [Saposhnikoviae Radix], 1 liang, sliced, dried at low heat), Gejie (Gejie [Gekko Gecko], 1 pair, remove head and feet, preserve medicinal properties), Dengxin Hui (Ash of Juncus Medulla [Junci Medulla Ash], 1 fen), Wugong (Wugong [Centipede], 1 strip, calcined, preserve medicinal properties), Quanxie (Quanxie [Scorpio], 7 pieces, calcined, preserve medicinal properties), Xuejie (Xuejie [Dragon's Blood], 1 fen, ground separately), Huanglian (Huanglian Rhizoma [Coptidis Rhizome], 0.5 liang, remove rhizome base, sliced, dried at low heat), Danggui (Danggui Radix [Angelicae Sinensis Radix], 0.5 liang, sliced, dried at low heat).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. Boil the sesame oil using alternating mild and strong heat until a drop does not disperse when put into water. Then add all the other medicines together, stir continuously and urgently with a willow branch, until a drop forms beads when put into water. After the ointment cools completely, apply it to the sore according to standard methods.
Yinchen (Yinchen Herba [Artemisiae Scopariae Herba], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Fangfeng (Fangfeng Radix [Saposhnikoviae Radix], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Huashi (Huashi [Talcum], 1 liang, ground finely separately), Danggui (Danggui Radix [Angelicae Sinensis Radix], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Dilong (Dilong [Pheretima], 0.5 liang, crushed), Ruxiang (Ruxiang [Olibanum], 0.5 liang, ground separately), Luoqing (Luoqing [Azurite], 1 liang, ground), Mayaxiao (Mayaxiao [Natrii Sulfas Crystallized], 0.5 liang, ground; take the powder of each).
Mix the above eight ingredients evenly. Mix with fresh well water and apply to the swollen area. Do not make it too thin. Apply frequently to prevent it from drying out.
Chishaoyao (Chishaoyao Radix [Paeoniae Radix Rubra], 1 liang, dried at low heat), Danggui (Danggui Radix [Angelicae Sinensis Radix], 1 liang, dried at low heat), Xuejie (Xuejie [Dragon's Blood], 1 fen, ground), Shexiang (Shexiang [Moschus], 1 fen, ground), Gualougen (Gualougen Trichosanthis Radix, 2 liang, roasted over fire, preserve medicinal properties), Renshen (Renshen Ginseng Radix [Ginseng Root], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Chenxiang (Chenxiang [Aquilaria Lignum Resinatum], 0.5 liang, chipped), Yinchen (Yinchen Herba [Artemisiae Scopariae Herba], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Quanxie (Quanxie [Scorpio], 7 pieces, remove head and feet, preserve medicinal properties).
Mix the above ten ingredients evenly and grind into powder. Form pills as large as bullet seeds using refined honey. Take one pill per dose, dissolved in Ruxiang Tang (Frankincense Decoction) for administration. Chewing is also acceptable. No specific time restrictions.
Cangzhu (Cangzhu Rhizoma [Atractylodis Rhizoma], 4 liang, soaked overnight in rice washing water, dried at low heat), Lianqiao (Lianqiao Fructus [Forsythiae Fructus], 1 liang, dried at low heat), Gancao (Gancao Radix et Rhizoma [Licorice Root], 1 liang, honey-fried), Dahuang (Dahuang Radix et Rhizoma [Rhei Radix et Rhizoma], 0.5 liang, sliced), Renshen (Renshen Ginseng Radix [Ginseng Root], 0.5 liang, sliced), Chi Fuling (Chi Fuling [Polyporus cum Pinodiis Ruber], 0.5 liang, sliced), Huangqin (Huangqin Radix [Scutellariae Radix], 2 qian 5 fen, roasted over fire, preserve medicinal properties), Jiegeng (Jiegeng Radix [Platycodonis Radix], 0.5 liang), Baizhu (Baizhu Rhizoma [Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma], 1 fen), Zhiqiao (Zhiqiao Fructus Aurantii Immaturus, 1 liang, bran-fried, remove white pith), Nanmuxiang (Nanmuxiang [Agarwood], 1 liang, sliced), Yizhi (Yizhi Fructus [Alpiniae Oxyphyllae Fructus], 1 liang, peel removed, sliced), Baizhi (Baizhi Radix [Angelicae Dahuricae Radix], 0.5 liang, dried at low heat), Kushen (Kushen Radix [Sophorae Flavescentis Radix], 1 liang, sliced).
Grind the above ingredients into fine powder. If thirsty, add 0.5 liang of Yaxiao (Natrii Sulfas Crystallized), ground separately. Take 2 large qian per dose, with 1 zhan of water and a 7-cun long willow branch. Decoct until 0.8 zhan remains, strain, and take warm. No specific time restrictions.
Apply Duoming Gao (Life-Rescuing Ointment) immediately upon onset. If there is fullness and oppression in the chest and diaphragm, along with constipation of the large intestine, use Yingtong Neituo Wan (Pain-Relieving Internal-Supporting Pill) as the primary treatment. If redness and swelling on the four sides increase daily, use Shengbing San (Ice-Conquering Powder) as the primary treatment. If excessive thirst and irritability persist and the disease worsens, use Shengliu San (Willow-Conquering Powder); this represents the sequence of treatments based on the depth of the disease. Avoid chicken meat and wet noodles; these foods can only be consumed half a year after recovery.
