The *Yizong Bidu* states: If a pregnant woman suddenly experiences severe stabbing pain in the heart and abdomen (commonly known as "intestine-collapsing colic" or *Jiaochangsha*), accompanied by chest oppression, syncope, and a sensation of impending death, this condition is termed "Zhong'e" (Sudden Invasion by Evil Qi). This occurs because evil qi invades the fetus and harms the mother. The reason for this is that the fetus relies on maternal blood and qi for nourishment, and blood and qi are the masters of spirit; if blood and qi are disharmonious, spiritual vitality weakens, allowing pathogenic toxic qi to invade. When a pregnant woman suffers from this disease, it also damages the fetus.
Xue Ji stated: For the aforementioned symptoms, it is advisable to regulate and tonify healthy qi. One may use a single herb, *Lonicerae Japonicae Caulis* (Jinyin Teng), decocted in water for oral administration.
*Danggui San* (Angelica Powder): Treats Zhong'e during pregnancy, characterized by severe cramping pain in the heart and abdomen. (It warms and circulates evil qi.)
Ingredients: *Dangshen Radix* (Danggui), *Syzygium Aromaticum Fructus* (Dingxiang), *Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanyao) (each 3 liang); *Citrus Reticulata Pericarpium Viride* (Qingjupi); *Evodiae Fructus* (Wuzhuyu) (0.5 liang, remove stems, soak in water three times, stir-fry until black).

*Sanzhi Tang* (Stagnation-Dispersing Decoction): Treats damage to the fetus caused by exposure to foul or turbid qi, resulting in severe abdominal pain where the area cannot be touched, and loss of appetite.

Preparation and Administration: Divide the herbs into two doses. Add 3 zhen of water, first decoct two large pieces of *Bambusae Caulis Internodus* (Zhugen) until reduced to 2 zhen, remove the bamboo nodes, then add the remaining herbs and decoct until reduced to 1 zhen. Take hot.
Supplementary Prescription: Treats Zhong'e during pregnancy, characterized by severe, cutting pain in the heart and abdomen, resembling a ghost strike, where massage is intolerable, or accompanied by hematemesis or epistaxis.
