,钱氏泻黄散;胃虚饮汤,七味白术散(必真虚者方可,不然恐罹实实之害);潮热时热,八珍汤;晡热内热,逍遥散;

Li stated: Tidal fever (fever occurring at fixed times) with a regular schedule indicates internal injury and deficiency; fever without a fixed schedule indicates external contraction and excess. For deficiency patterns, Da Wen Jing Tang (Great Warming of the Menses Decoction) is used; for heat patterns, Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) combined with Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix) and Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) is prescribed; for amenorrhea, Zi Xue Tang (Nourishing Blood Decoction) is employed; for bone-steaming fever (a sensation of heat emanating from the bones due to yin deficiency and fire hyperactivity), Da Hu Lian Wan (Great Coptis Pill) and Da Wu Ji Wan (Great Black Chicken Pill) are utilized; for tidal fever of the five centers (palms, soles, and chest), Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) combined with Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and Hu Huang Lian (Picrorhizae Rhizoma) is given; for those without sweating, Fu Ling Bu Xin Tang (Poria Nourishing Heart Decoction) is administered; for those with sweating, Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is used. For tidal fever preceding menstruation, it indicates blood deficiency with stasis; Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is modified with Mu Dan Pi (Moutan Cortex), Tao Ren (Persicae Semen), and Yuan Hu Suo (Corydalis Rhizoma). For tidal fever following menstruation, it indicates blood deficiency with heat; Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is modified by removing Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), substituting Di Gu Pi (Lycii Cortex), and adding Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix). These modifications constitute the supreme remedies for reducing fever (Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) serves as a supreme remedy for fever reduction, requiring adept modification). For ordinary tidal fever, Shen Qi Wan (Kidney Qi Pill), Da Zao Wan (Great Creation Pill), or a honeyed pill made from Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) ingredients plus one liang of stir-fried Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) and one jin of Si Zhi Xiang Fu (Cyperi Rhizoma processed in four ways) may be used.
Wu Jiaoshan treated a woman who suffered from excessive menstrual bleeding, five-center vexation and heat, and afternoon tidal fever (fever worsening between 3-5 PM). Various medications proved ineffective. She was cured after taking three doses of Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) combined with Hu Huang Lian (Picrorhizae Rhizoma).
Xue Xinpu treated a woman whose menstruation was delayed, accompanied by fever and fatigue. The use of Si Wu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) combined with Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) and similar herbs resulted in menstruation occurring only once every two months, with scanty flow and clots. Subsequently, harsh purgative medicines were used to unblock the menses, leading to blurred vision as if covered by cloth. Xue stated: The Spleen is the head of all yin organs, and the eyes are the gathering place of blood vessels. This injury to the Spleen causes all five zang organs to lose their proper residence, preventing essence and blood from ascending to the eyes. He therefore employed Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) and Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction) from *Ji Sheng Fang*, focusing specifically on the Spleen and Stomach. After more than a year, she gradually recovered.
*Da Quan* states: Guest heat (heat caused by external pathogenic factors) arises because the body is deficient, and during convalescence, excessive warming measures are applied, allowing external heat to invade. It is not heat generated internally by the zang-fu organs, hence it is called guest heat. Its manifestations include empty heat in the upper jiao between the chest and diaphragm, dry mouth, mental restlessness, and intense heat in the hands and feet.
Xue stated: If the aforementioned conditions are caused by invasion of guest pathogens, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) combined with Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) and Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) should be used (when using Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) for guest pathogens, careful discernment is required, correlating symptoms and pulse); for Liver deficiency and blood insufficiency, Liu Wei Di Huang Wan (Six-Ingredient Pill with Rehmannia) is indicated; for stomach fire with a desire for cold drinks, Qian Shi Xie Huang San (Child Master's Draining Yellow Powder) is prescribed; for stomach deficiency with a desire for warm drinks, Qi Wei Bai Zhu San (Seven-Ingredient Atractylodes Macrocephala Powder) is used (this must be applied only when true deficiency exists; otherwise, there is a risk of committing the error of "treating excess as excess," i.e., aggravating an excess condition by applying tonification); for tidal fever with periodic heat, Ba Zhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction) is employed; for afternoon fever with internal heat, Xiao Yao San (Free and Easy Wanderer Powder) is used; for fever accompanied by physical fatigue, Bu Zhong Yi Qi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction) is administered; for fever induced by anger, Xiao Chai Hu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) is prescribed; for fever occurring at Yin, Mao, You, and Xu hours, Sheng Yang Yi Yin Tang (Raise Yang and Nourish Yin Decoction) is used.
