Whenever encountering Tianxing Shiqi (epidemic qi transmitted through the air), fearing infection, one must delay going out and return early, keep the abdomen full, wear spiritual talismans, and frequently burn aromatic spices such as Sichuan pepper, orchid, white Acorus, and Atractylodes for their clear, strong fragrance. Smearing Realgar in the nostrils is best. Formulas such as Laojun Shenming San and Dongpo Shengsanzi consist entirely of pungent, hot, drying, caustic, and toxic drugs, lacking any ingredients that support healthy Qi, expel pathogens, eliminate turbidity, or detoxify. It is unknown why those unfamiliar with medical texts list them under epidemic categories; they must be later forgeries. Students should beware of using them blindly based on names, as doing so causes significant harm. Yu Tianmin analyzed this in detail; it is essential to investigate.
