治风温初起，风热新感，冬温袭肺咳嗽。
薄荷（一钱五分） 蝉蜕（一钱） 前胡（一钱五分） 淡豆豉（四钱） 栝蒌壳（二钱） 牛蒡子（一钱五分）
煎服。如有口渴，再加花粉。
此法专取辛凉，以治风温初起，无论有无伏气，皆可先施。用薄荷、蝉蜕，轻透其表；前胡、淡豉，宣解其风。叶
香岩云∶温邪上受，首先犯肺。故佐蒌皮、牛蒡，开其肺气。气分舒畅，则新邪伏气，均透达矣。
治中风卒倒，中恶气绝，痰饮不语，神魂恍惚，头目昏眩，眠睡不安，唇口干燥，伤寒谵语，心肺积热，伏热呕吐，
邪气攻心，大肠风秘，血气不通，寒热交错，暗风，中热，疫毒，阴阳二毒，山岚瘴毒，水毒，蛊毒，中一切物毒，妇
人难产闷乱，胎死不下，产后血晕，口鼻出血，恶血攻心，烦躁，气喘，吐逆，小儿诸痫，急惊心热，卒中客忤，烦
躁不眠，风涎搐搦。
生乌犀角（一两） 朱砂（一两） 雄黄（一两） 生玳瑁（一两） 琥珀（一两） 麝香（一钱） 龙脑（一钱）
金箔（五十片） 银箔（五十片） 西牛黄（五钱） 安息香（一两五钱） 制丸如梧桐子大，用蜡护之，每服三丸至
五丸。小儿二岁，每服二丸。
此治心脏神昏，从表透里之方。黄、犀、瑁、珀，以有灵之物内通心窍；朱、雄、二箔，以重坠之品安镇心神；佐
以脑、麝、安息，搜剔幽隐诸窍。故热入心包络，舌绛神昏者，以此丹入寒凉汤药中用之，有祛阴起阳，立展神明之效。
若病因头痛而即神昏不语者，此肝虚魂升于顶，当用牡蛎救逆以降之，又非此丹之所宜也。
Treats the initial stage of Wind-Warmth (Fengwen), recent contraction of Wind-Heat, and cough caused by Winter-Warmth invading the Lung.
Bohe (Menthae Haplocalyx Herba, 1.5 qian) Chan Tui (Cicadae Periostracum, 1 qian) Qian Hu (Peucedani Radix, 1.5 qian) Dan Dou Chi (Glycines Semen Preparatum, 4 qian) Gua Lou Qiao (Trichosanthis Pericarpium, 2 qian) Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus, 1.5 qian)
Decoct and take orally. If there is thirst, add Tian Hua Fen (Trichosanthis Radix).
This method specifically selects acrid-cool herbs to treat the initial stage of Wind-Warmth; whether or not there is latent pathogenic factor (Fu Qi), this approach can be applied first. Bohe and Chan Tui lightly penetrate and release the exterior; Qian Hu and Dan Dou Shi disseminate and resolve Wind pathogens. Ye Tianshi stated: Warm pathogens enter from above and first invade the Lung. Therefore, Gua Lou Pi (Trichosanthis Pericarpium) and Niu Bang Zi are added to open Lung Qi. When Qi mechanism flows freely, both new external pathogens and latent factors will be penetrated and expelled.
Treats sudden collapse due to Stroke (Zhong Feng), sudden death-like state due to Evil Qi, muteness due to Phlegm-Fluid, vague spirit and soul, dizziness of head and eyes, restless sleep, dry lips and mouth, delirious speech due to Cold Damage (Shang Han), accumulation of heat in Heart and Lung, vomiting due to latent heat, attacking of Heart by pathogenic factors, wind constipation of Large Intestine, obstruction of Blood and Qi, alternating chills and fever, hidden wind, heat stroke, epidemic toxins, Yin-Yang dual toxins, mountain miasma toxins, water toxins, Gu toxins, poisoning by all kinds of substances, difficult labor with confusion in women, retained dead fetus, postpartum blood fainting, bleeding from mouth and nose, attacking of Heart by evil blood, irritability, panting, vomiting, various epilepsy syndromes in children, acute fright with Heart heat, sudden attack by guest evils, irritability and insomnia, convulsions due to wind-phlegm.

Make into pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds, protect with wax coating. Take 3 to 5 pills per dose. For two-year-old children, take 2 pills per dose.
This is a formula for treating Heart-related mental cloudiness, penetrating from the exterior to the interior. Huang (likely referring to specific yellow-colored spiritual minerals/herbs in context, though text lists others), Xi Jiao, Dai Mao, and Hu Po use spiritually potent substances to internally unblock the Heart orifices; Zhu Sha, Xiong Huang, Jin Bo, and Yin Bo use heavy and sinking materials to calm and anchor the Heart Spirit; supplemented by Long Nao, She Xiang, and An Xi Xiang to search out and clear deep and hidden orifices. Thus, when Heat enters the Pericardium Collateral (Xin Bao Luo) causing crimson tongue and mental cloudiness, adding this pill to cold-cooling decoctions has the effect of dispelling Yin and raising Yang, immediately restoring clarity of mind. If the cause of sudden mental cloudiness and muteness is headache, this indicates Liver deficiency with Hun (Ethereal Soul) rising to the vertex; one should use Mu Li Jiu Ni Tang (Oyster Shell Rescue Against Collapse Decoction) to descend it, which is not suitable for this pill.
