Take one pill per dose, dissolve it in half sheng of good wine, decoct it, stir with a willow branch from the southeast direction, and drink while hot.
Empirical Prescription: Treats contusions, fractures, and bone injuries. After taking this medicine, starting from the top of the head, search for the pathology downwards. Upon reaching the affected area, there will be a rustling sound, and one will feel the medicinal power circulating continuously within the body, leading to recovery.
Ingredients: Ziran Tong (Pyritum, quenched in vinegar seven times, 1 liang), Chuanwu (Aconiti Radix, skin and tip removed), Songmingjie (Pinus resinous nodes), Xuxiang (Boswelliae Resina), Xuexie (Dracaenae Sanguis) 3 qian, Longgu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi, raw, 0.5 liang), Dilong (Pheretima, 0.5 liang), Shuizhi (Hirudo, fried, 0.5 liang), Moyao (Myrrha), Sumu (Sappan Lignum), Jiangzhenxiang (Dalbergiae Odoriferae Lignum), Tugou (Gryllotalpa, ten pieces, soaked in oil and baked dry).
Preparation and Administration: Grind the above ingredients into a powder. Take 5 qian per dose, mixed with unfermented wine. For lesions in the upper body, take after meals; for those in the lower body, take before meals.
Commentary: The above three prescriptions are derived from examples of treating traumatic injuries related to the Shaoyin meridian. The use of toxic herbs is intended to promote circulation through the meridians, indicating that these formulas should only be used when blood stasis has been cleared. Danxi stated that people generally consider Ziran Tong (Pyritum) as a bone-setting herb. However, most of these formulas essentially focus on tonifying qi, tonifying blood, and tonifying the spleen earth. Quack doctors seek quick effects for profit, catering to patients' desires. Copper itself is not unadvisable to take. However, if Ziran Tong is taken directly out of fire, its fire toxicity and metal toxicity interact, compounded by the toxicity of spices and other drugs. Although it has the merit of healing wounds, its drying and dispersing harm is worse than swords or knives; this must be guarded against.
