Anxi Xiang (Styrax Resin) 1.5 liang is ground into powder, stirred and clarified with unfermented wine, filtered to remove sand and gravel, yielding approximately 1 liang of pure liquid. It is slowly boiled over low fire until it becomes a paste.

Yin Bo (Silver Leaf), Jin Bo (Gold Leaf) (each 50 pieces, half used for coating).
First, grind the raw rhinoceros horn and testudo carapace into fine powder, mix evenly with the remaining drugs. Then, place the Anxi Xiang paste in a vessel heated by boiling water. After it solidifies, add all other medicines, knead and mix into a pill mass, and store in a non-porous container.
Immediately roll into pills the size of paulownia seeds.

Niu Huang (Calculus Bovis) (1.2 liang), Long Nao (Borneolum Syntheticum), She Xiang (Moschus), Ling Yang Jiao Mo (Saiga Tatarica Horn Powder) (each 1 liang), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix), Bai Zhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Mai Men Dong (Ophiopogonis Radix), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix) (each 1.5 liang), Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix), Jie Geng (Platycodonis Radix), Bai Fu Ling (Poria), Xing Ren (Armeniacae Semen Amarum), Xiong Qiong (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (each 1.25 liang), Rou Gui (Cinnamomi Cortex), Da Dou Juan (Glycines Sojae Germinatus Semen Preparatum), E Jiao (Colla Corii Asini) (each 1.75 liang), Pu Huang (Typhae Pollen), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Shen Qu (Massa Medicata Fermentata) (each 2.5 liang), Xiong Huang (Realgar) (8 qian), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (5 liang), Bai Lian (Trollii Radix) (0.75 liang), Gan Jiang (Zingiberis Radix Preparata) (0.75 liang), Xi Jiao Mo (Rhinocerotis Cornu Powder) (2 liang), Gan Shan Yao (Dioscoreae Rhizoma) (7 liang), Jin Bo (Gold Leaf) (1200 pieces, 400 pieces used for coating), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) (100 kernels, steamed until ripe, skin and pits removed, pounded into a paste).
Grind all ingredients into fine powder. Use refined honey and jujube paste to form pills. Each liang of powder makes 10 pills. Coat with gold leaf. Take one pill per dose, dissolved in warm water, taken after meals (see detailed book reference).
The "Fa Ming" (Explanation) states: Whenever such pills are used, it is because wind has entered the bone marrow and cannot be expelled. Therefore, drugs such as Long Nao, She Xiang, Niu Huang, Xiong Huang, Xi Jiao, Hu Po, Zhen Zhu (Pearl), and Jin Bo, which can penetrate the bone marrow and reach the skin and muscles, are used to allow the wind pathogen to exit from the exterior. If the disease involves the blood vessels or the fu-organs, Long Nao, She Xiang, and Niu Huang should not be used initially, as they may draw the wind pathogen deeper into the bone marrow, making it impossible to extract, like oil mixing with flour. However, if the disease involves the zang-organs accompanied by phlegm-saliva, coma, dizziness, and irritability and heat, these pills are suitable for resolving phlegm, suppressing rebellion, and clearing the spirit.
