*Bai Fan* (Alumen, Alum) [ground] *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root) (equal parts)
Grind the above into a fine powder. Take two *qian* per dose, mixed with cold water and swallowed.
Treats regurgitation (*Fanwei*) with vomiting of food, where fluids cannot be retained.
*Hei Xi* (Black Tin/Lead) (1.5 *qian*, also known as Black Lead) *Shui Yin* (Mercury) (1.5 *qian*. Combine these two ingredients and heat slowly until they condense into "sand," then grind into a fine powder) *Ding Xiang* (Clove) (3 *qian*)
Grind the above into a fine powder. Mix with millet soup and take three *qian* per dose. Then add three *qian* of fresh ginger juice, mix well, and take on an empty stomach.
Treats regurgitation (*Fanwei*) and vomiting of food.
*Niu Xian* (Cow Saliva) (0.5 *jin*) *Hao Mi* (High-quality Honey) (0.5 *jin*) *Mu Bie Zi* (Semen Strychni, Strichnos Nux-vomica Seed) (30 seeds, skin removed, oil extracted)
Grind the above into a fine powder. Place the cow saliva and honey in a silver vessel, simmer over low heat, stirring with seven branches of locust tree wood, until dry. Take with two spoonfuls of white porridge per dose.
Specifically treats regurgitation (*Fanwei*). This disease has a mortality rate of nine out of ten; it is ineffective without medicine. Often, patients force themselves to eat, drinking soups first, which accelerates vomiting. Now obtain this prescription:
Extract seven *sheng* of juice from good sugarcane by crushing, and one *sheng* of ginger juice. Mix well and divide into three doses.
Take one red date, remove the pit, wrap one whole *Ban Mao* (Mylabris, Blister Beetle) inside. Roast over moderate to strong heat until done, discard the beetle, consume only the date, on an empty stomach, washed down with warm water.
Treats regurgitation (*Fanwei*).
*Ren Shen* (Ginseng Root) *Nan Mu Xiang* (Aucklandia Root) (do not roast) *Nan Xing* (Arisaema Rhizome) (wash seven times with ginger juice, 2 *qian each) *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root) (1 *qian*) *Ban Xia* (Pinellia Tuber) (wash seven times with ginger juice, 5 *qian*, soak in juice and roast)
[Note: The original text contains layout errors ("five juice soak, roast qian connect mix"); interpreted based on context as standard processing instructions.]
Treats carbuncles and sores on the brain and back, as well as breast abscesses and groin sores (malignant ulcers). (Verified case by Censor Zheng Shanming.)
*Ren Shen* (Ginseng Root) *Dang Gui* (Angelica Sinensis Root) *Huang Qin* (Scutellaria Root) *Bai Shao* (White Peony Root) *Chuan Xiong* (Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizome) *Fang Feng* (Saposhnikovia Root) *Gan Cao* (Licorice Root) *Gua Lou* (Trichosanthes Fruit) *Bai Zhi* (Angelica Dahurica Root) *Guan Gui* (Cinnamon Bark) *Jie Geng* (Platycodon Root) (all above 3 *qian*)
Cut the above herbs into small pieces. Weigh 7-8 *qian* of herbs per dose. Add two large cups of water, decoct until reduced to 70%. Add half a cup of wine, strain, and take warm. If pain is severe, induce sweating and use acupuncture to puncture and drain.
