Tortoise Shell (Cu Zhi, fifteen liang) [Shells of the softshell turtle, processed with vinegar] Shijueming (Zhi, four liang five qian) [Concha Haliotidis, roasted] Zhusha (Fei, three liang) [Cinnabar, water-floating process]
Grind all together into fine powder, mix with water to form pills. Take one qian per dose, washed down with decoction of Tufuling (Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae).
Yangmeichuang (Chancre / Syphilis): Applying genuine Benzoin (Anxi) will cure it immediately.
Another prescription (from Wang Yuting's *Pujiu*). Yangmeichuang is caused by sexual misconduct; occasionally it is contracted through contact, but this accounts for only one or two in a hundred. If treated improperly, it not only harms the body but also affects wife and children, and may even lead to infertility, causing endless regret. However, treatment methods vary: some suppress the toxin preventing its expulsion; some use heavy doses of blood-moving drugs to drive out the toxin; some use ascending and dispersing agents to bring the toxin to the surface; some use resolving and expelling agents to neutralize and remove the toxin. Among these four, only ascending/dispersing and resolving/expelling are usable. Suppression and internal retention will inevitably lead to Jiedu (hard chancre/gumma). Heavy use of blood-moving drugs will severely damage Yuanqi (Original Qi). I have a prescription with only a few ingredients, neither moving nor resolving, yet milder. Regardless of whether the disease is new or old, complete recovery can be achieved within twenty doses. It not only permanently eliminates aftereffects but also does not hinder fertility. The only concern is that after recovery, patients might consider it too easy and indulge in lust again. Whose fault would that be? I advise patients to thoroughly reform their ways after full recovery, perform good deeds, avoid divine retribution, preserve the body given by parents, eliminate residual toxins affecting spouses and children, and cultivate fortune and longevity for descendants. Is this not a greater gain!
Heshouwu (Avoid iron, crush with wooden pestle) Fangfeng Jingyinhuaj (Each three qian) [Flos Lonicerae Japonicae, purified] Jingjie Danggui (Two qian) [Herba Schizonepetae] Feizaozizi (Nine pieces, crushed) [Fructus Gleditsiae Sinensis] Zhuyi (One piece) [Pancreas Porcinum] Tufuling (Scrape off skin with ceramic edge, crush with wooden pestle, four liang) [Rhizoma Smilacis Glabrae]
Add six bowls of river water, decoct in a clay pot until three bowls remain. Take one bowl warm on an empty stomach in the morning, and one bowl each after lunch and before dinner. Avoid soy sauce, salt, vinegar, tea, chicken, fish, goose, duck, shrimp, eggs, and fresh/raw foods. Only consume pork stewed with Tufuling, tofu, and green vegetables. All other foods are forbidden. Use Tufuling decoction as tea substitute.
