Hu Gongbi stated: Zhouhou Du (Elbow Posterior Toxicity) is caused by the wandering of wind-toxin, leading to stagnation of Qi and Blood. The pulse meridians extend to the five fingers, resulting in the formation of a toxic sore at the elbow. (From *Qingnang*)
*Yizong Xinfa* (Medical Master's Heart Methods) states: Zhou Yong (Elbow Abscess) arises around the elbow, formed by the coagulation of Wind-Fire from the Heart and Lungs. When small in form, it is called Jie (Furuncle); when large, it is called Yong (Abscess).
Shen Douyuan stated: Yuqi Chuang (Fish-Belly Ulcer) resembles a fish's navel. Those occurring in the cubital fossa (the fleshy part of the elbow bend) belong to the Hand-Shaoyin Heart Meridian, which is abundant in Qi but deficient in Blood; the acupoints involved are Shaohai and Lingdao. Those occurring in the calf belong to the Foot-Taiyang Bladder Meridian, which is abundant in Blood but deficient in Qi; the area involves the upper and lower regions of Chengshan and Feiyang. (From *Qixuan*)
Wang Kentang stated: Wan Yong (Wrist Abscess) occurs at the flexion point of the wrist, commonly known as "Shou Niu Ya Qu." This is caused by the accumulation of Wind-Heat and Toxin in the Three Yin Meridians of the Hand. (From *Zhunsheng*)
Li Dongyuan stated: Wan Yong occurs on the dorsal aspect of the wrist, belonging to the Three Yang Meridians of the Hand. It is formed by the coagulation of Wind-Fire and occurs in areas where the skin and flesh are thin. If it persists for a long time without ulcerating, or presents with diffuse swelling and flat collapse, and upon ulceration reveals exposed bone with rotting tissue, it is considered a Ni Syndrome (Adverse/Intractable condition), making recovery difficult.
Chen Shigong stated: Dui Ju (Dui Carbuncle) occurs at the arterial site of the hand, characterized by swelling, pain, chills, and fever, with pain radiating to the arm and difficulty in movement.
Zhu Danxi stated: Dui Ju occurs behind the transverse crease of the wrist on the palmar side, between the slightly anterior arteries. It appears on both hands and represents the gateway of the Lung Meridian. If a Ju develops or ulcerates deeply, it causes massive leakage of Lung Qi, representing a most critical and dangerous syndrome.
Wang Kentang stated: Zhuyu Chuang (Cornel Fruit Ulcer) occurs between the hands and feet, growing oppositely like fresh cornel fruits. It is itchy and painful; scratching breaks the skin, causing copious yellow discharge. It forms holes resembling insect bites and, over time, generates worms. (From *Zhunsheng*)
*Yizong Xinfa* states: Zhuyu Chuang occurs between the fingers and palms, resembling cornel fruits, growing oppositely on both hands, sometimes in clusters. Initially, yellow-white pustules appear, accompanied by intermittent itching and pain. Upon rupture, yellow fluid flows out; the condition fluctuates between remission and exacerbation, proving extremely stubborn and chronic. It is caused by Wind-Dampness invading the skin and interstices. It is suitable to apply Runji Gao (Moisturizing Muscle Ointment). If the condition persists for a long time, worms will inevitably generate inside; Lili Gao (Veratrum Ointment) should be applied. Dietary restrictions must also be observed.
