Feng Luzhan stated: In Shanghan Huhuo disease (Infectious disease characterized by oral and genital ulcers), sores on the upper lip indicate worms devouring the internal organs; sores on the lower lip indicate worms devouring the anus. If the erosion penetrates through the anus internally, it is incurable. (From *Jinnang*)
He further stated: There are cases of persistent chronic cough where severe chest pain occurs when hungry. One must examine the upper lip; if white spots resembling rice grains are present, this indicates worms devouring the lungs.
Use Baibu Gao (Stemonae Tuber Ointment) alone, added with Wumei (Mume Fructus) and Binglang (Arecae Semen), taken orally. Expelling the worms will lead to recovery. Lung worms resemble cocoons and cause coughing and hoarseness.
He also stated: Whenever there is heat in the abdomen and deficiency-cold in the stomach and intestines, worms migrate seeking food. Sores on the upper lip are called "Huo" (Confusion), indicating worms devouring the viscera. Sores on the lower lip are called "Hu" (Fox), indicating worms devouring the anus. Those who contract this illness rarely survive; ten out of ten do not live.

He further stated: Itching around the anus is mostly caused by damp-heat in the large intestine generating worms that erode the anus. Over time, the gums lose color, the tongue becomes entirely white, limbs feel fatigued, hemoptysis of millet-grain-sized blood clots occurs, and one feels inner restlessness, leading to a critical condition. At the onset, Huati Wan (Evil-Transforming Pill) is suitable.
*Yizong Xinfa* states: Anal itching in children is caused by worm erosion. Inspecting the inner side of the lower lip will reveal small white sores, or small nodules like beads clustered behind and in front of the ears. Internal administration of Lushui Wan (Aloe Pill) is appropriate, while externally, Xionghuang (Realgar) and Tonglv (Malachite) ground equally into a fine powder should be sprinkled on the area.
