Dislocation of the mandible (Luo Xia Ke) is caused by Qi deficiency, resulting in the inability to constrain the joint and orifice. The patient sits upright with a straight posture. Using both hands to support the lower jaw, the thumbs of the left and right hands are inserted into the mouth and placed on the molar teeth. The lower jaw is held firmly while force is applied downward toward the shoulders to open the joint, followed by pushing it upward toward the back of the head to reposition the joint. Subsequently, a silk strip is used to support the chin and fix it at the top of the head. After about half an hour, the strip is removed, and the condition is cured.
Mandibular dislocation arises from deficiency and damage in the Lung and Kidney organs, as well as insufficiency of the Primordial Spirit (Yuan Shen). It may also be caused by laughing or talking with high excitement until fatigue is forgotten, leading to a temporary failure of Yuan Qi to connect continuously. If reduced according to the method, one must avoid wind and quickly take Jiawei Liujunzi Tang (Modified Six Gentlemen Decoction); otherwise, if external Wind pathogen invades, it will inevitably lead to excessive phlegm-saliva accumulation and deviation of the mouth and eyes. If Wind enters the Zang-Fu organs, ten out of ten cases will not recover. (From *Ji Yan*)

Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), Baizhu (Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma), Baifuling (Poria), Banxia (Pinelliae Tuber) (each 1.5 qian); Tianma (Gastrodiae Rhizoma) (fire-roasted), Chenpi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium) (each 1 qian); Jiangcan (Bombyx Batryticatus) (wine-fried, remove silk), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) (each 2 qian); Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) (soaked in boiling water, peel skin and remove umbilicus, 6 fen); Chuanxiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) (8 fen); Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (3 fen).
Dengxincao (Junci Medulla) 40 roots, Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) 3 slices. Decoct in water and take orally.
For mandibular dislocation: Hold one or two Wumei (Mume Fructus) in the mouth, and pour tea over them from above.
For mandibular dislocation: Crush Wumei (Mume Fructus) and make it into a cake, stuff it into the very end of the teeth. When the mouth opens and saliva flows, manually lift and reduce the jaw.
Chen Shigong said: Injuries caused by human bites result in damage to healthy flesh. Since the teeth belong to the Yangming Stomach Meridian, the internal organs often contain much Fire and Heat. Any food passing through here inevitably rots before being swallowed. Furthermore, toxins from roasted and grilled foods inevitably invade the body. Thus, injuries cause swelling with abnormal pain, foul pus discharge, and rotting; the pain penetrates to the heart. This is due to receiving the toxicity of the teeth. Within one day of the initial bite, people soak the injured area in hot urine, clean off the yellowish blood stasis from the teeth, and apply a Chan Su (Toad Venom) cake on the bite wound, covering it with plaster. As slight pus exudes later, gradual healing occurs. If this method was not used initially, causing severe swelling and pain, first clean and dry the area with child's urine. Then, roll coarse paper into a wick, dip it in Mazhongyou (Sesame Oil), light it, and use the smoke flame to fumigate the swollen and painful area for a long time to resolve the toxicity. Insert Chan Su strips into the wound, cover with Taiyi Gao (Taiyi Plaster), and when the swelling subsides, switch to Yuhong Gao (Jade Red Plaster) to rub and promote flesh growth and wound closure.
