The aforementioned herbs are soaked in ten *jin* (approx. 5 kg) of sesame oil for seven days. They are then boiled in a pot until the herbs become withered and charred. The dregs are filtered out, and the oil is returned to a clean pot and continued to be boiled until it reaches the stage where a drop forms a bead when dropped into water. At this point, add the following fine herbal powders: Longgu (Fossilized Bones), Xuxiang (Frankincense, de-oiled), Moyao (Myrrh, de-oiled), Xuexie (Dragon's Blood) (each 2 liang), and Shexiang (Musk) (stored separately and added just before use; Musk is contraindicated if the skin is broken or bones are damaged). Boil these powders into the oil, store in a porcelain mortar. For every 4 liang of medicinal oil, add 1 jin of processed Songxiang (Pine Rosin) and boil together to form an ointment. Pour into a water vat and pull/stretch to remove "fire toxicity," then store. When applying the plaster, melt and spread it properly, leave on the ground for one shichen (2 hours) before application. This allows the ability of Tubifex worm (Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga) to be effective, facilitating bone setting.
For facial and ocular bruising and purplish discoloration caused by falls, apply fresh Banxia (Pinellia Tuber) juice to reduce swelling.
Bone-setting formula (from *Li Yue*): Take old roof tiles from ancient houses, grind into fine powder, mix with good wine, take 2-3 qian orally. After sleeping, the bone will set.
For contusions and trauma: Dashuang (Rhubarb Rhizome) and Rougui (Cinnamon Bark) (each 1 liang). Grind into fine powder, mix with red sugar, and apply externally.
Divine Formula for Contusions and Bone/Tendon Injuries (Xu Yuanzhi): Nuomi (Glutinous Rice) (select whole grains without cracks) and Shaojiuqu (Distiller's Yeast) (each 3 qian). Grind into fine powder, mix with unadulterated hot wine, drink, cover thickly to induce sweating.

Golden Ointment: Treats contusions, bone/tendon fractures, knife wounds, stick injuries, scalds, and burns. Boil 0.5 jin of sesame oil until it beads in water. Remove from heat, add Baicha (White Beeswax) and Huangcha (Yellow Beeswax) (each 5 qian), stir until melted. Add Tenghuang (Gamboge) (1 liang), stir well, and store. The older the ointment, the better. If stored too long and becomes too hard, add boiled sesame oil, melt, stir well, cool, and apply. Contraindicated for neck cutting wounds due to the toxicity of Gamboge.
Contusion formula: Songmao (Pine Needles) (from isolated pine trees with no surrounding trees leaning on them, 10 liang, washed clean with clear water, chopped while damp, pounded in a stone mortar until soft), Hongzhizi (Gardenia Fruit) (81 pieces), Feimian (Fine Wheat Flour) (8 liang). Add appropriate amount of water, pound together into a cake. First wash the affected area with green onion soup, then apply the cake, wrapping externally with leather paper. For severe cases, change once daily. After nine days, blue/black discoloration will be drawn out, and the injury will heal spontaneously.
Contusion formula: Freshly peel a piece of Chouqunpi (Bark of Ailanthus Altissima), 2 liang of fresh ginger, and a handful of rooster or hen down feathers. Grind all ingredients into fine powder and mix evenly. Store in a porcelain bottle. Based on the size of the injury, use 1 qian or 8 fen of powder. Boil one teacup of good rice vinegar in a copper spoon, add the medicine, boil briefly, mix, and apply to the affected area. Temperature should not be too hot or too cold. Cover with cotton paper, wrap tightly, and secure with new cotton. Change every 8-10 days. Avoid rooster, carp, and eel. Beef and mutton are allowed. Abstain from sexual intercourse. Recovery after 100 days is miraculous.
Contusion formula: Digupi (Lycium Cortex), Weilingxian (Salvia Root), Gusuibu (Drynaria Rhizome), Chuanxuduan (Teasel Root) (each 6 qian). Place in a porcelain jar with 2 jin of wine. Simmer over boiling water until reduced to 1.5 jin. Drink to induce sweating. Dregs: add 1 jin of wine, decoct to 0.5 jin, and drink.

Then use Bajieli (Tribulus Fructus), Bailian (Belamcanda Rhizome), Guanzhong (Dryopteris Crassirhizoma) ground into fine powder, mixed with sesame oil and applied. Maggots will die.
Post-injury skin bruising (*Shenghui Fang*): Use large, entirely yellow eggplant seeds. Slice one finger-thick, bake on tile until dry, grind to powder. Mix 2 qian with wine, take at bedtime. Swelling disappears overnight without trace.
Abraded ear or nose (*Bencao Gangmu*): Use hair ash powder. While urgent, dip the detached ear/nose into hair ash to reattach, bind with soft cloth. Miraculous effect.
Self-inflicted fall severing tongue tip, bleeding incessantly (*Bencao Gangmu*): Apply rice vinegar with chicken feather brush to the severed part to stop bleeding. Then use Puhuang (Lygodii Spora), Xingren (Apricot Seed), Pengsha (Borax) in small amounts, ground to powder, mixed with honey, held in mouth to dissolve. Cured.
