Cheng Shanling stated: In cases of carbuncles and sores that are most difficult to heal, it is invariably due to the intermingling of stagnant blood and necrotic flesh, and the incomplete discharge of pus. Unskilled physicians, failing to recognize this, recklessly use astringent and tonifying agents to force wound closure, fearing that internal toxins may recur internally in the future, becoming more severe than before. Only by applying Haifu San (Sea Floating Powder) and Yuluo San (Jade Snail Powder) to the affected area can it be considered a supreme treasure; the stagnant blood will naturally detach without the need for surgical incision, new flesh will grow spontaneously, and toxins will not be retained, ensuring absolute success. The general principle is to first wash the area with Fangfeng Tang (Saposhnikovia Decoction) or Zhuti Tang (Pig Trotter Decoction); if it is a hemorrhoid, wash with a decoction of Wuhuaguo Ye (Fig Leaf), then apply the powdered medicine. During washing, avoiding wind exposure is paramount. As the texts state: frequently wash with decoctions, strictly avoid wind drafts. Therefore, for those whose constitutions are too weak to achieve closure, internal administration of tonifying medicines is required to assist. (*Shifa*)
Li Dongyuan stated: If pus and blood have not been completely discharged, and one immediately uses agents for generating flesh and closing ulcers in pursuit of early healing, little do they know that if evil flesh (necrotic tissue) is not fully removed, the ulcer will close prematurely and inevitably recur later. One must not be careless. (*Shifa*)
Feng Luzhan stated: When carbuncles and sores are about to contract, it is appropriate to use plaster patches. If the pathogenic toxin has not yet cleared, one should not hastily use agents for generating flesh. (*Jinnang*)
He also stated: When carbuncles and sores are nearing resolution, it is appropriate to tonify Qi and Blood, facilitating muscle growth; if cold-cooling agents are administered, full regeneration becomes difficult.
**Shengji San (Generating Flesh Powder)** (*Jinnang*): Generates flesh and promotes tissue growth, with miraculous efficacy.
