The verse states:
The Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine Meridian has nineteen acupoints. The pathway begins at Shaose (Small Sea, SI1), proceeds through the elevated paths of Qiangu (Front Valley, SI2) and Houxi (Back Stream, SI3), follows Wangu (Cuboid, SI4), observes the origins of Yanggu (Yang Valley, SI5) and Yanglao (Nourishing Old Age, SI6), meets Zhizheng (Branchal Corrector, SI7) and Xiaohai (Small Sea, SI8), follows Jianzhen (Shoulder Straightness, SI9), encounters Jianwaishu (Outer Shoulder Shu, SI14) and Tianzong (Heavenly Master, SI11), rides Bingfeng (Controlling Wind, SI12) into Quyuan (Curved Ridge, SI13), passes through Jianwaishu (Outer Shoulder Shu, SI14) and Jianzhongshu (Inner Shoulder Shu, SI15), opens Tiangchuang (Heavenly Window, SI16) to see Tianrong (Heavenly Adornment, SI17). Without passing through Quanliao (Cheekbone Hollow, SI18), how can one reach Tinggong (Listening Palace, SI19)?
The meridian of the Hand-Taiyang Small Intestine originates at the tip of the little finger, runs along the ulnar side of the hand, ascends to the wrist, emerges from the middle of the ankle (wrist joint), goes straight up along the lower border of the ulna, emerges between the two bones on the medial side of the elbow, ascends along the posterior border of the humerus, emerges from the shoulder joint, winds around the scapula, intersects at the shoulder, enters the supraclavicular fossa (Quepen), descends to connect with the Heart, follows the pharynx, crosses the diaphragm, reaches the Stomach, and belongs to the Small Intestine; its branch arises from the supraclavicular fossa, runs along the neck to the cheek, reaches the outer canthus of the eye, then re-enters the ear; another branch diverges from the cheek, ascends to the nasal region, reaches the inner canthus of the eye, and obliquely connects with the zygomatic area. When this meridian is disturbed, it causes sore throat, swelling of the mandible, inability to turn the head, pain in the shoulder as if being pulled out, and pain in the arm as if broken. The diseases governed by this meridian include deafness, yellow eyes, swelling of the cheeks and mandible, and pain in the axilla, shoulder, elbow, arm, and lateral posterior aspect of the upper limb.
Shaose (SI1) [Two points] (Also known as Shaoji, located at the radial side of the tip of the little finger, one fen below the corner of the nail.)
Qiangu (SI2) [Two points] (Located on the ulnar side of the little finger, in the depression anterior to the metacarpophalangeal joint.)
Houxi (SI3) [Two points] (Located on the ulnar side of the little finger, in the depression posterior to the metacarpophalangeal joint.)
Wangu (SI4) [Two points] (Located on the ulnar side of the hand, in the depression distal to the styloid process of the ulna.)
Yanggu (SI5) [Two points] (Located on the ulnar side of the wrist, in the depression distal to the styloid process of the ulna.)
Yanglao (SI6) [Two points] (Located one cun posterior to Wangu, in the depression.)
Zhizheng (SI7) [Two points] (Located five cun posterior to the wrist crease, connecting to the Hand-Shaoyin Pericardium Meridian.) *Note: Text says "Hand-Shaoyin", standard is Heart, but translation follows text intent or corrects to standard? WHO standard is Heart. Text says "Shao Yin". I will translate as "Hand-Shaoyin" to be faithful to source, but note standard is Heart. Actually, Zhizheng is a Luo-connecting point connecting to Heart. The text says "bie zou shao yin". I will translate literally.* -> Located five cun posterior to the wrist, diverging to the Hand-Shaoyin Meridian.
Xiaohai (SI8) [Two points] (Located in the depression medial to the olecranon of the ulna, half cun from the end of the elbow.)
Jianzhen (SI9) [Two points] (Located in the depression between the two bones below the posterior axillary fold.)
Jianwaishu (SI14) [Two points] (Text says "Yu", context implies Jianwaishu. Located posterior to the shoulder, under the large bone, on the upper border of the scapula, in the depression.) *Translation based on context "Jianwai Shu" implied by previous verse line "Jianwai Shu xi Jianzhong Shu".*
Tianzong (SI11) [Two points] (Located in the depression under the large bone posterior to Bingfeng.)
Bingfeng (SI12) [Two points] (Located lateral to Tianzong, posterior to the small condyle of the shoulder, an acupoint present when raising the arm.)
Quyuan (SI13) [Two points] (Located in the center of the shoulder, in the depression of the curved scapula.)
Jianwaishu (SI14) [Two points] (Located on the upper border of the scapula, three cun from the spine.)
Jianzhongshu (SI15) [Two points] (Located on the medial border of the scapula, three cun from the spine.)
Tiangchuang (SI16) [Two points] (Also known as Chuanglong, located anterior to the sternocleidomastoid muscle, below the angle of the jaw, posterior to Futu, in the depression of the pulsating artery.)
Tianrong (SI17) [Two points] (Located below the ear, under the curved angle of the jaw.)
Quanliao (SI18) [Two points] (Text says "Quan ", missing character, context implies Quanliao. Located under the lower border of the zygomatic bone.)
Tinggong (SI19) [Two points] (Located in the ear, like a small bean, in the depression anterior to the tragus.)
