[Formula Analysis] In secular practice for treating sores, besides Pearl and Calculus Bovis, Lapis Succini and Coral are hailed as the "Eight Treasures." This relies merely on their prestigious names to elevate one's status superficially, disregarding the actual quality of the materials. It fails to escape vulgarity, serving only as a trivial gesture. However, since this formula has evident efficacy in promoting tissue regeneration and closing wounds, it stands shoulder to shoulder with precious pearls and jade without shame. Therefore, it is bestowed with an honorable name, marking a grand ceremony of merit.
The wound-closing formula is largely similar to the above.
Fei Huashi (Levigated Talcum) Chishizhi (Red Kaolin) Bingpian (Borneol, a small amount)
Suitable for the wound-closing stage; contraindicated when toxins are not yet cleared.
[Formula Analysis] Pearl powder is considered a precious item, but Shouyi argues that it belongs to the bivalve category. One can simply take large pieces of Oyster Shell, wash away the mud and dirt, crush them, and wash them in clear water to obtain fine powder, discarding the coarse residue. Its efficacy is identical to that of Pearl powder, yet its price is only one-hundred-thousandth. Naming it Pearl powder is truly justified; how could vulgar people understand its utility?
