[Symptoms of Urinary Difficulty due to Paralleled Seepage] Persistent diarrhea with indistinguishable food and water, gurgling sounds in the abdomen, with or without pain, and complete absence of urine. This is caused by body fluids paralleling into the large intestine.
[Causes of Urinary Difficulty due to Paralleled Seepage] The Stomach (Wei) is the official of the granary, responsible for receiving food and drink; the Small Intestine (Xiao Chang) is the official of reception and transformation, responsible for processing substances and excreting waste. However, this requires the harmonious Qi of the Spleen (Pi) to function properly in transportation and fluid distribution. If the Yuan Qi of the Spleen fails in its duties, the food and water in the Stomach cannot be digested, and the contents in the Small Intestine become turbid and undigested. Consequently, the separation of clear and turbid at the Lanmen (gate between small and large intestines) becomes unclear, causing food and water to divert to the large intestine, leading to urinary difficulty.
[Pulse Signs of Urinary Difficulty due to Paralleled Seepage] A wiry and large pulse at the Right Guan position indicates a disease of the Stomach. A wiry and thin pulse at the Right Guan position indicates damage to Spleen Qi. A slightly wiry pulse at the Left Cun position indicates a disease of the Small Intestine. (Original text ends here).
[Treatment of Urinary Difficulty due to Paralleled Seepage] For Phlegm-fluid retention in the Stomach, use Er Chen Ping Wei San (Two-Aged Decoction Combined with Stomach-Pacifying Powder). For unclear Stomach Fire, use Qing Wei Tang (Stomach-Clearing Decoction). For Cold in the Stomach unable to digest food, use [missing character] Tang (likely Fuzi Lizhong Tang or similar). For Cold in the Spleen unable to ripen food and drink, use Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction). For deficiency of Central Qi unable to ascend and descend Yin and Yang, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction). For Heat in the Spleen unable to clarify and descend turbidity, use Huanglian Wuji Tang (Coptis-Wuji Decoction) combined with Xiehuang San (Drain the Yellow Powder).

[Symptoms of Urinary Difficulty due to Qi Deficiency] Timidity of Qi and spirit, sallow complexion, faint voice, absence of internal heat signs, non-chapped lips, no thirst, desire to urinate but inability to do so. These are symptoms of urinary difficulty due to Qi deficiency.
[Causes of Urinary Difficulty due to Qi Deficiency] These include innate weakness of Primordial Qi, excessive sweating or purging, chronic illness weakening Qi, physical exertion injuring Qi, or sudden fright from daily life causing disorder of the Triple Burner (Sanjiao) Qi. All these result in urinary difficulty.
[Pulse Signs of Urinary Difficulty due to Qi Deficiency] A weak pulse at the Right Cun position indicates insufficient Lung Qi. A weak pulse at the Right Guan position indicates insufficient Central Qi. A fine pulse at the Right Chi position indicates weak Bladder Qi. A fine pulse at the Left Cun position indicates weak Small Intestine Qi.
[Treatment of Urinary Difficulty due to Qi Deficiency] For insufficient Lung Qi, use Shengmai San (Generate the Pulse Powder). For insufficient Central Qi, use Buzhong Yiqi Tang (Tonify the Middle and Augment the Qi Decoction). For weak Bladder Qi unable to transform the Zhou Du (Bladder reservoir), use Renshen Cheqian Tang (Ginseng and Plantago Seed Decoction).
