Diseases of the head and face are treated by needling Zhiyin (BL67); diseases of the legs and feet are sought at Fengfu (GV16); diseases of the chest and heart are drained at Shaofu (HT8); diseases of the umbilicus and abdomen are needled at Ququan (LR8). Various diseases of the shoulders and back are treated below Zhongzhu (TE3); stiffness and pain of the waist and knees rely on Jiaoxin (KI8); pain in the hypochondrium and legs is excellent with Houxi (SI3); swelling of the thighs and knees is drained at Taichong (LR3). When hernia of the yin manifests with swelling as large as a sheng (unit of measure), the Baihui (GV20) acupoint is truly astonishing. For headache at the vertex with inability to open the eyes, needling Yongquan (KI1) ensures peace and health. For crane-knee disease (knee swelling and wasting making movement difficult), Chize (LU5) can relieve bone and tendon pain; adding Quchi (LI11) is wonderful, tracing the source allows for regulation; if the patient wishes to recover quickly, Fengfu (GV16) can also be needled. Furthermore, for spasticity and urgency of the arms, deep needling of Chize (LU5) removes numbness; for spastic wind affecting the waist and back, Quchi (LI11) is attacked at one cun five fen. The cause of the five types of hemorrhoids is hot blood; needling Chengshan (BL57) makes the disease vanish. When asthma attacks preventing sleep, Fenglong (ST40) is inserted three cun (or three inches). With delirium, night sweats, and seeing ghosts, Xingxing (alertness) is achieved by needling Jianshi (PC5). For cold bones and marrow, fire moxibustion is used; Lingdao (HT4) is a wonderful acupoint clearly recorded. Malaria with chills and heat is truly fearful; one must know deficiency and excess and apply intent; Jianshi (PC5) should be extended to reach Zhigou (TE6), and Dazhui (GV14) with seven moxa cones conforms to sage treatment; if it occurs frequently day after day without stopping, Jinmen (BL63) is needled deeply seven fen. If malaria occurs every three days, with chills preceding heat and no other words, when chills exceed heat, Fuliu (KI7) is taken; when heat exceeds chills, Jianshi (PC5) is used. Or if suffering from Shanghan (Cold Damage) with heat not yet resolved, wind obstruction in the jaw making medicine difficult to administer, neck stiffness, opisthotonos, and fixed gaze, seek Lieque (LU7) with golden needle intent. For Shanghan with cold extremities and absent pulse, carefully search; there are two magical acupoints: Fuliu (KI7) half a cun along the bone. When limbs return warmth and pulse floats, understand the inversion of yin and yang; for cold, tonify Jiegu (GB39); for heat, draining Jiegu is worry-free; if the pulse is floating and surging, drain to resolve; if deep and fine, tonify to heal. Baihe Shanghan (Lily Disease Cold Damage) is hardest to treat; apply divine needle methods with intent; with locked jaws and closed eyes where medicine cannot enter, one needle at Hegu (LI4) yields miraculous effect. For Huhuo Shanghan with mouth ulcers, decoction of Coptidis Rhizoma (Huanglian) and Rhinoceros Horn (Xijiao) is required. If worms eat muscles in the zang-fu, Shenzi (divine needle) at Dicang (ST4) is needed. For abdominal pain in Shanghan where worms seek food, vomiting and sucking sour plums is hard to attack; death is certain in ten or nine days; Zhongwan (CV12) restores stomach qi flow. For Shanghan with stagnation and chest binding, yellow eyes and no sweat, Yongquan (KI1) three fen is wonderful, quickly causing whole-body sweat to flow. For Shanghan with stagnation and hypochondriac accumulation pain, Qimen (LR14) shows deep merit; if sweating should occur but does not, drain Hegu (LI4); if spontaneous sweating and jaundice appear, rely on Fuliu (KI7). Feihu (EX-UE6) one acupoint unblocks stagnation, dispelling wind and guiding qi to bring peace. Gang and Rou spasms are most erratic, with locked jaws, closed eyes, and red face makeup; hot blood flows into the heart and lung fu organs, requiring gold needle at Shaoshang (LU11). How to remove the root of fullness? Needling Yinbao (LR9) is effective as a god; whether old or young, follow the method, requiring the patient to lift their body. For contusions, injuries, and tetanus, first attack the painful area with needles, then Chengshan (BL57) produces immediate effect; Zhen Quan left infinite meaning. For ten years of spring waist and leg pain, if needling fails to alert, Dadu (SP3) guides qi to explore the root; taking medicine and seeking prescriptions is wasted gold. For years of foot and knee pain that does not cease, seek with intent around the inner and outer malleoli; the acupoints are Kunlun (BL60) and Luzhixi (Zhaohai KI6), dissipating timely and healing immediately. How to treat Wind Bi, Wei syndrome, and Jue? Dachshu (BL11) and Ququan (LR8) are truly wonderful; fullness in both legs and hypochondrium making extension difficult, Feihu divine needle reaches seven fen; how to remove the root of soft waist? Shenmiao Weizhong (BL40) stands to show effect.

Song of the Nine Acupoints for Returning Yang

*Ju Ying*

Yamen (GV15), Laogong (PC8), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Yongquan (KI1), Taixi (KI3), Zhongwan (CV12) connect; Huantiao (GB30), Zusanli (ST36), Hegu (LI4) join; these are the Nine Acupoints for Returning Yang.

Lan Jiang Fu

Collected by Yang Shi

How many are there in Dan and Jie methods? There is Dan and Jie to rise from severe illnesses.

I now chant this Lan Jiang Fu, why use the songs of three carts and five spokes?

First establish this method as a fixed example, dividing sequence within Liu Zhu (Flowing and Transfusing).

Diseases in the chest are supported by Neiguan (PC6); below the navel, Gongsun (SP4) is used to block.

For the head, still seek Lieque (LU7), for phlegm-saliva obstruction and dry throat.

For locked mouth and wind in the throat, needle Zhaohai (KI6); bleeding with a three-edged knife brings instant peace.

For exterior Shanghan and headache, draining Waiguan (TE5) naturally brings peace.

For eye disorders and various pains, further support with Linqi (GB15).

Houxi (SI3) exclusively treats Du Mai diseases, epilepsy and mania are cured lightly by this point;

Shenmai (BL62) can remove chills and heat, lateral and regular headaches, and cold heart.

Tinnitus, epistaxis, and chest fullness, good to seek this acupoint with golden needle.

But when encountering itching and numbness, tonify for deficiency; if meeting pain, drain and welcome.

Furthermore, there is a true wonderful secret for Shanghan: San Yin meridians must be pierced via Yang meridians.

For no sweat, additionally tonify Hegu (LI4); draining Fuliu (KI7) is good for application.

If sweat flows endlessly, tonifying Hegu (LI4) to collect is effective as a god.

On the fourth day, Tai Yin should be carefully distinguished, Gongsun (SP4) and Zhaohai (KI6) go together;

Again apply Neiguan (PC6) with ultimate method, on the seventh day Qimen (LR14) uses needle wonderfully;

Treating all Shanghan uses draining, know that Su Wen is clear and calm.

Within Liu Zhu, creation is divided, often balancing Water, Fire, Earth, and Metal.

When Water number is deficient, directly tonify Lung; when Water overflows, Earth can level it.

In Spring and Summer, Ying (Spring) points should be shallow; in Autumn and Winter, Jing (River) and He (Sea) points are deeper.

Heaven, Earth, and Four Seasons are of this category, Three Talents are commonly remembered in mind and chest;

Heaven, Earth, Human departments enter sequentially, still adjusting each department evenly.

If weak wife and strong husband have overcoming, if weak husband and strong wife have punishment,

All lie in Dan and Jie of the same meridian, draining South and tonifying North must also be understood.

When meridians are clear, one knows creation; without master's transmission, effort is wasted.

Do not transmit to those who do not retreat to perfection; how can Tianbao be given to unworthy people?

Press firmly on Qi and Blood while patient exhales, strike and rub dozens of times to support the needle.

Retreat shaking and raise upward to use, Qi naturally flows and disease naturally vanishes.

Liu Zhu Zhi Wei Fu

Disease resides in Ying and Wei, needles assist and save. Observe deficiency and excess in thin and fat, distinguish depth according to four seasons. Thus seeing the method of selecting acupoints, only divide Yin and Yang regarding Xi (valleys) and Gu (caves); Ying (welcoming) and Sui (following), Ni (reverse) and Shun (smooth), must know Qi and Blood rising and sinking. Originally in Zhi Wei Lun, obscure meanings become Fu, knowing the opening of Qi of the current time, speaking of the flowing and transfusing of meridians. Each time reading text and referring to its method, the gist of each chapter is carefully sought. Again examining classics and observing words, the merit of each character is clearly stated. Doubts and hidden matters are all known, deficiency and excess generally attach. Moving pain and stopping pain is like a god, obtaining peace under the needle. Sudden diseases and chronic ailments reaching critical states, piercing them without error. Detailed: On Yin days, Blood leads; when Yang Qi remains, warm needle is used; on Yang days, Qi leads; meeting Yin Blood, warming firm cold and moistening. Deeply seeking various meridians, twelve make numbers, collaterals fifteen form a cycle. Yin Shu sixty are governed by Zang, Yang acupoints seventy-two are collected by Fu. Piercing Yang meridians, one can lay the needle to take; seizing Blood collaterals, first soften with finger. Ni is Ying and Shun is Sui, exhale is drain and inhale is tonify. Shallow ailments and new diseases, reason for using needle; lingering diseases and prolonged illness, reason for applying moxa. Dryness and vexation, medicines and herbs hard to save, must take Eight Hui points; abscesses and odd vessels accumulating evil, destroy demons and stone heals. Moreover, Jia Gallbladder and Yi Liver, Ding Fire and Ren Water, that which generates me is called Mother, that which I generate is named Son. Spring Jing (Well) and Summer Ying (Spring) mean evil is present, Autumn Jing (River) and Winter He (Sea) mean piercing. Violating taboos and disease recurring, using days declining and hard to stop. Sun collaterals are in flesh divisions, blood flows out from branch interiors. Fainting and dizziness from needle晕, meridian deficiency tonifying collateral is necessary; pain is excess, itching is deficiency, draining Son following Mother is key pointer. Thinking of ancient sages' rapid effects, none surpasses needle; modern people curing diseases, how is it difficult for medicine? Xu Wenbo induced abortion in Yuan Nei, this was very fast; Fan Jiusi treated throat in Jiang Xia, hearing and seeing are rare. Generally, ancient and modern relics, later generations all learn from. Wang Zuan pierced demon and immediately recovered, otter came from there; Qiu Fu treated ghost and obtained effect, soul avoided sorrow. Then feeling the subtle indication, using needle requires true secret, orifices detailed in bone, tendon, and flesh divisions, piercing essentials observe long and new, cold and heat. Connecting Qi and passing through meridians, short and long according to law, inside and outside extremes, emaciation and fullness must be distinguished. Do not pierce great fatigue, causing Qi chaos and spirit collapse; beware of wild breathing, preventing other needle fainting and closing blood. Also often seeking ancient meaning, having hidden mechanisms, understanding high sages' true interest, then transcendingly obtain enlightenment; meeting experts showing teaching, then expressing my supporting danger. Male and female Qi pulses, moving time and combining, measuring nourishing moments, injecting acupoints must rely. Now detailing instruments of disease, divine needle formulas. Broadly searching *Nan Jing* and *Su Wen* secret texts; deeply examining various families' elbow box wonderful insights. Hence called Lujiang Liu Zhu's Zhi Wei, as model for later learners.
