《肘 后 歌》
Bian Que taught me the *Yulong Ge* (Jade Dragon Song), which, when tested once, can cure severe chronic diseases. The song of Yulong is truly rare; it has been passed down for a thousand years without error. Today I sing this *Yulong Jue* (Jade Dragon Secret), containing one hundred and twenty acupoints. Those who study it will find the needle techniques extraordinarily wonderful, though I fear contemporaries may introduce deviations themselves. Apply tonification and sedation clearly under the fingers; with a single insertion of the golden needle, a skilled physician is revealed. The stooped will immediately straighten, the hunched will rise, and thus fame will spread throughout the world.
Apoplexy with aphasia is the most difficult to treat; one must know the points at the hairline and vertex. Further applying clear tonification or sedation to Baihui (GV20, Hundred Convergences) will allow immediate recovery and avoid disaster. Clear nasal discharge is called Biyuan (Nasal Sinusitis); tonify first then sedate, and the disease will be cured. If there is Toufeng (Head Wind) accompanied by eye pain, needle Shangxing (GV23) without bias. For head wind, vomiting, and blurred vision, selecting Shenting (GV24) ensures no error. How to treat slow convulsions in children? Needle Yintang (EX-HN3) and add moxibustion. Stiffness and pain in the head and neck making it hard to look back, along with toothache, are treated similarly: first apply clear tonification or sedation to Chengjiang (CV24), then needle Fengfu (GV16) for immediate relief. Severe headache, whether lateral or frontal, is hard to cure; Sizhukong (SJ23) can also be used. Needling horizontally backward to penetrate Lvgu (GB8), treating two points with one needle, is rare in the world. There are two types of lateral and frontal headaches; carefully observe whether there is phlegm-fluid retention. If there is phlegm-fluid, needle Fengchi (GB20); if not, Hegu (LI4) will bring peace. Facial paralysis is most lamentable; Dican (ST4) connects to Jiache (ST6). If the face deviates to the left, sedate the right side following the master's correction; if to the right, sedate the left without allowing deviation. To treat loss of smell, attack Yingxiang (LI20) on both sides. Tonify first then sedate for clear effect; qi flows before the needle is withdrawn. Deafness due to qi blockage and pain preventing speech requires needling Yifeng (SJ17) for recovery; it also treats scrofula under the neck. Sedating upon insertion brings immediate peace. For deafness where sound is not heard, with itching, tinnitus like cicadas, and discomfort, if there is redness, swelling, or sores, use sedation; select Tinggong (SI19) for needle treatment. Occasional loss of voice and difficulty speaking: the Yamen (GV15) point lies between the two tendons. Knowing to needle shallowly and not deeply, the voice will harmonize and health return. Pain in the glabella is unbearable; needling Zanzhu (BL2) horizontally is safe. It can treat blurred vision; further needling Toubai (EX-HN4) brings health. Red, swollen eyes with unbearable pain, aversion to light, and inner anxiety: only needle Jingming (BL1) and Yujing (EX-HN4); bleeding from Taiyang (EX-HN5) naturally eliminates the condition. Sudden eye pain with blood filling the pupil, aversion to light, and difficulty opening eyes: needle Taiyang (EX-HN5) to bleed; without using a gold knife, the disease calms itself. Heart fire flaring up causes red eyes; needling Yingxiang (LI20) unblocks the flow. After extracting toxic blood, cooling the eyes reveals efficacy. Stiffness and pain in the spine and back: sedate Renzhong (GV26); sprains and lower back soreness can also be attacked. Furthermore, Weizhong (BL40) allows you to treat any waist disease. Kidney deficiency causing unbearable lower back pain affects movement and standing abnormally. Knowing the location of Shenshu (BL23), frequent moxibustion restores health. Huantiao (GB30) treats leg and thigh wind; Juliao (GB33) should be seriously attacked. Releasing toxic blood from Weizhong (BL40) reveals the divine merit of medical science. Weakness in knees and legs makes standing difficult, caused by wind-dampness disability. If Mashi (EX-LE2) is known for moxibustion, walking becomes leisurely and peaceful. Guangu (EX-LE1) cures bilateral leg pain; redness and swelling in the knees preventing walking require needling Xiyangguan (EX-LE5) and Xiguan (SP9); effects are seen instantly, preventing disease generation. Unbearable cold-dampness foot qi: first needle Zusanli (ST36) and Yinjiao (SP6), then add Jieguxu (GB39); swelling and pain vanish immediately. Swollen, red legs and feet ("Straw Sandal Wind"): attack Kunlun (BL60) bilaterally; adding Shenmai (BL62) and Taixi (KI3) invokes the divine prescription to revive the exhausted. Pain on the dorsum of the foot starts at Qiuxu (GB40); oblique needling to bleed brings instant relief. Recognize Jiexi (ST41) and Shangqiu (SP5); distinguish tonification and sedation in needle manipulation. Difficulty walking with worsening disease: Taichong (LR3) shows great efficacy; further needling Zusanli (ST36) and Zhongfeng (LR6) removes disease as if grasped by hand. Redness and swelling of the knee, "Crane Knee Wind": Yanglingquan (GB34) can be attacked; penetrating Yinlingquan (SP9) yields even better results, eliminating redness and swelling with extraordinary merit. Weakness in the wrist with painful difficulty holding objects: Wangu (SI4) shows effect, but do not take tonification and sedation lightly. Sudden pain in both arms with qi attacking the chest: Jianjing (GB21) clearly attacks this point, where true qi gathers; tonify more than sedate to match its nature. Wind and cold in shoulder and back radiating to the arm: needling the two points in the back seam clarifies the issue; Wushu (BL52) also treats lower back pain, bringing instant relief upon locating the point. Contracture of both elbows connecting sinews and bones, making movement difficult and uneasy: only sedate Quchi (LI11); combining with Zezen (LU5) reveals holy transmission. Redness and swelling at the shoulder end with unbearable pain, caused by cold-dampness struggling with wild qi-blood: if Ming tonification or sedation is applied to Jianyu (LI15), many moxibustions ensure health. Tight sinews preventing hand extension: Zesen (LU5) has always been taken seriously. Even with various symptoms of the head and face, one needle to Hegu (LI4) works like a spirit. Gas masses in the abdomen with unbearable pain: the method should defend Neiguan (PC6), a famous Yin Linking vessel in the Eight Extraordinary Vessels, ensuring eternal peace for abdominal diseases. Abdominal pain is also unbearable; Dalng (PC7) and Waiguan (TE5) can resolve it. If there is hypochondriac pain and constipation, Zhigou (TE6) is miraculously effective. Spleen syndromes are most pitiable, suffering from simultaneous cold and heat. Sedating Jianshi (PC7) twice cures both heat (sedation) and cold (tonification). Nine types of heart pain and spleen pain: use divine needles in Shangwan (CV13). If spleen failure occurs, tonify Zhongwan (CV12); these two needles work magically to prevent disaster. Hemorrhoids and fistulas are detestable; internal and external urgency is hardest to tolerate, with pain, itching, or bleeding. Erbai (EX-UE3) is found behind the palm. Sanjiao heat congesting the upper jiao causes bitter taste and dry tongue, hard to regulate. Pricking Guanchong (TE1) to release toxic blood generates saliva and eliminates disease. Redness and swelling of arms extending to the wrist: needling Yemen (TE2) clarifies the issue; further needling Zhongzhu (TE3), sedating frequently, lightens the disease. Apoplexy is not mild; Zhongchong (PC9) brings peace. If tonifying first then sedating yields no response, again needle Renzhong (GV26) for immediate relief. Gallbladder cold and heart deficiency: Shaochong (HT9) is most meritorious. Insert three fen without moxa; after using the golden needle, peace returns. Seasonal malaria is hardest to control; the point methods were not originally clear. If Houxi (SI3) is located, adding moxa lightens it quickly. Paroxysmal toothache suffers bitterly; the point is Erjian (LI2). If suffering from reverse stomach and vomiting food, the extra point Zhongkui should not be neglected. Throat swelling (tonsillitis) is rarely treated; golden needles are necessary to remove the disease. If Shaoshang (LU11) bleeds, peace and safety follow immediately. Nowadays, urticaria presents in many forms; even skilled physicians find it hard to treat. Adding moxa to Tianjing (TE11) bilaterally ensures safety even if scrofula arises. Cold-phlegm cough combined with wind: Lieque (LU7) is best to attack. First sedate Taiyuan (LU9), then add moxa to achieve results. Dementia is repulsive; recognizing hierarchy is lost, cursing others in vain. Shenmen (HT7) alone treats dementia; turning the hand over the bone locates the true point. Days of deficiency irritability and red face, with difficult-to-tolerate palpitations: finding Tongli (HT5) and using a golden needle restores health. Wind-dizziness and rotting eyes are pitiable; tears flowing uncontrollably are unspeakable. Dagu Kong (EX-B1) and Xiaogu Kong (EX-B2) are excellent points; adding moxa ensures quick recovery. Women's mastitis with unbearable pain, vomiting wind-phlegm thick as glue: clear tonification or sedation in Shaoze (SI1) brings timely divine effect and regulates qi. Whole-body fever and pain indicate deficiency; drenching night sweats gradually damage the body. Bulaocun (DU14) on the vertebral bone is required; one golden needle removes all diseases. Sudden cough with lower back and back pain: Shen Zhu (DU12) lightens the condition when moxa is applied; Zhiyang (DU9) also treats jaundice, with clear effects from tonifying first then sedating. Kidney failure, weak waist, and frequent urination, exhausting the spirit day and night: if Mingmen (GV4) receives golden needle assistance, and Shenshu (BL23) receives moxibustion, health recovers. Nine types of hemorrhoids harm people most; certainly needle Chengshan (BL57) with god-like effect. Changqiang (GV1) is another point; groaning and severe pain confirm its authenticity. Uncured wind-cold leads to frequent coughing; untreated long-term it becomes consumption. Cough requires needling Feishu (BL13); excessive phlegm seeks Fenglong (ST40). Gaohuang (BL43) strongly treats disease; this point is originally hard to measure. This point prohibits needling; use much moxa. Twenty-one moxa cones cause no harm. Loose pores lead to frequent coughing, clear nasal discharge, and heavy qi. Know that Fengmen (BL12) sneezes; deep moxa is suitable for cough. Gallbladder cold causes fear of startling; spermatorrhea and white turbidity are hard to stop. Night dreams of ghost intercourse are treated with Xinshu (BL15); Bairuan Shu (BL30) is treated similarly. Liver blood deficiency causes blurred vision; tonifying Ganshu (BL18) adds strength. Frequently sedating Zusanli (ST36) restores light and benefits blood without error. Spleen syndromes are varied, leading to difficult reverse stomach and vomiting. Jaundice also seeks Wan Gu (SI4); the golden needle definitely conquers Zhongwan (CV12). No-sweat cold damage: sedate Fuliu (KI7). Excessive sweating: gather with Hegu (LI4). If all six pulses are fine and minute, one tonification with the golden needle raises the pulse. Constipation cannot be resolved; Zhaohai (KI6) is clearly in the foot. Further sedating Zhigou (TE6) reveals the divine power of the excellent point. Lower abdominal fullness with qi attacking the heart: first needle Neiting (ST44). If there is water in both feet, sedate Linqi (GB15); only then is the disease prevented. Seven types of hernia: take Dadun (LR1); the method originates from the side of the toe. What treats kidney qi rushing to the heart? Guan Yuan (CV4) and Da Mai (GB26) should not be ignored. Consumptive tuberculosis is hardest to treat; bleeding Yongquan (KI1) avoids disaster. Excessive phlegm: sedate Fenglong (ST40); asthma can also be treated with Dantian (CV12). General body pain is unusual; carefully examine the uncertain points. Where there are sinews and bones, needle shallowly; measure moxa temporarily. Laogong (PC8) is found in the palm; sores all over the hand with unbearable pain. Chest and heart diseases: sedate Dalng (PC7); qi attacking chest and abdomen is treated generally. Asthma is hardest to bear; sleeping at night is impossible due to panting. Find the excellent point Tiantu (CV22); moxa on Danzhong (CV17) brings peace. Jiwei (CV15) alone treats five types of epilepsy; this point must be observed carefully. If moxa is added, seven cones are appropriate; too many harm people, and needling is difficult. Urgent asthma prevents sleep; why suffer day and night? If Xuji (CV21) is sedated, and Qihai (CV6) is taken, peace follows. Strong kidneys with frequent hernia attacks, qi rushing to the heart resembling death: Guan Yuan (CV4) combined with Dadun (LR1); this method was personally transmitted to be true. Water disease is hardest to endure; abdominal fullness and false distension refuse to dissipate. First moxa Shuifen (CV9) and Shuidao (ST28), then needle Zusanli (ST36) and Yinjiao (SP6). Red and white leukorrhea in women is difficult because of deficiency and collapse failing to provide peace. Tonify Zhongji (CV3) more, sedate less; pay attention to moxibustion. Roaring asthma with much phlegm: if golden needles are used, the disease harmonizes. Yufu (BL24) and Rugen (ST18) are needled similarly; asthma and wind-phlegm gradually wear away. Cold damage passing through stages remains unresolved; needle Qimen (LR14). Sudden asthma attacking chest and diaphragm: sedate Zusanli (ST36) with care. Spleen diarrhea has no other symptom; do not err in needling Tianshu (ST25). This is a disease of five zang organs and spleen deficiency; adding more moxa does not worsen the disease. Bad breath is detestable; laboring heart due to excessive emotion. Sedate Renzhong (GV26) within Dalng (PC7); the heart obtains coolness and qi calms. Depth of needle methods lies in the fingers; curing disease reveals miraculous merit in an instant. Advising you to treat various diseases, why not remember Yulong from the beginning?
Song of Acupoint Methods for Miscellaneous Diseases
Cited from *Rumen* in *Zhenjiu Dacheng*
Select miscellaneous acupoints for miscellaneous diseases according to symptoms, still combining Yuan (Source), He (Sea), and Eight Method points. Discuss meridians, Yuan, Hui, Luo, and Bie points in detail; strictly begin with Shu (Stream) and Mu (Alarm) points of zang-fu. The principles of Gen (Root), Jie (Terminal), Ben (Root), and Biao (Branch) are profound and subtle; recognize the locations of Si Guan (Four Gates) and San Bu (Three Areas).
