Because Qi and Blood are used to nourish the fetus, body fluids cannot sufficiently moisten, leading to Lung Dryness (Fei Zao, dryness of the Lung organ). Treatment should tonify the mother organ (Spleen Earth generates Lung Metal).
Lung Dryness manifests as a desire to cry, frequent yawning, and stretching. Use Gancao Dazao Tang (Licorice and Jujube Decoction). [Tonifying Class, Formula 25]. Bazhen Tang (Eight Treasures Decoction). [Tonifying Class, Formula 5]. Danzhuru Tang (Bamboo Shavings Decoction). [Cold/Cooling Class, Formula 19].

Fetal movement presents with abdominal pain; Fetal Leakage (Tai Lou, vaginal bleeding during pregnancy without pain) has no abdominal pain. Fetal movement is suitable for promoting Qi circulation, while Fetal Leakage is suitable for clearing Heat. If hands and feet are cold and cold extremities occur, and lips and mouth turn cyanotic or black, use Renshen (Ginseng Radix), Gancao (Licorice Root), Danggui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin), Lianxu (Lotus Stamen), and Congbai (Scallion White).

Yuan Qi (Primal Qi) deficiency leads to fatigue and inability to support the fetus. Suitable to take Antai Tiaoqi Yin (Fetus-Calming and Qi-Regulating Drink). [Tonifying Class, Formula 26]. If there is slight fever and lower back pain, continue taking two doses.

Suitable to use Antai Yin (Fetus-Calming Drink) with added Xiangfu (Cyperi Rhizoma), Chaihu (Bupleuri Radix), and Baishao (Paeoniae Radix Alba). [Tonifying Class, Formula 9]. If there is internal Fire, add Zhizi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Danpi (Moutan Cortex).
Fetal movement caused by maternal illness. Treat only the maternal illness, no need specifically to calm the fetus, but drugs that harm the fetus must not be included. For other causes such as alcohol consumption, excessive sexual intercourse, external trauma, or falls causing fetal movement, the primary treatment should be calming the fetus.
Fetal movement with vaginal bleeding. Decoct Congbai (Scallion White) in water, add Ejiao (Donkey-hide Gelatin) and Aitan (Mugwort Charcoal), decoct again and take.
