If the pox toxin is extremely deep and attacks the eyes, causing the cornea (Heijin) to become uneven and bumpy, medication must be administered slowly to allow the black pupil (Heizhu) to return to its normal smooth state before applying eye drops for pterygium removal can cure the condition; rushing the treatment will result in failure.
If the patient can still perceive "San Guang" (the three lights: reflection from the pupil, iris, and lens), the condition is treatable. If San Guang cannot be seen at all, it indicates that gallbladder bile has dispersed, the Shen Gao (divine fluid/vitreous humor) has dried up, and Kidney Water has mixed turbidly with the Shen Gao; this is an incurable condition.
