Cassiae Semen (Juemingzi), Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), and Chrysanthemi Flos (Juhua) (each 1 liang); Tmesopteridis Herba (Muzei) and Cicadae Periostracum (Chantui) (each 2 qian); Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) (3 qian); Celosiae Semen Qianqizi (Qiangzizi, stir-fried); Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng); Gardeniae Fructus (Shanzhi); Tribuli Fructus (Bajili, stir-fried); Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao); and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Praeparata cum Melle (Fengcao) (each 5 qian).
Grind the above herbs into a fine powder. Form pills using refined honey, with each pill being the size of a paulownia seed. Take thirty pills per dose, administered with Ophiopogonis Decoction (Maidong Tang).
For severe trauma to the head and eyes, the following prescription is suitable:
Angelicae Sinensis Radix (Danggui), Paeoniae Radix Alba (Baishao), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudi), and Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong) (each 1 qian); Libanotidis Rhizoma (Ben), Peucedani Radix (Qianhu), and Saposhnikoviae Radix (Fangfeng) (each 0.7 qian).
Add two zhong of water, decoct until one zhong remains, and take hot.
If the injury involves the eyebrow bone, add Scutellariae Radix (Huanglian); if it involves the eye interior, add Bupleuri Radix (Chaihu); if it involves the forehead, vertex, upper ear angle, or brain, add Atractylodis Rhizoma (Cangzhu); if it involves the areas before and behind the ears or the ear angle, add Aurantii Fructus Immaturus (Zhiqiao); if it involves the temporal angles and areas before and behind the ears, add Gentianae Radix (Dancao); if it involves the frontal angles and vertex, add Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi); if there is heat, add Scutellariae Radix (Huangqin); if the stool is dry, add Rhei Radix et Rhizoma (Dahuang).
If the Shen Shui (Divine Water, referring to the aqueous humor or pupil dynamics in traditional context) is dilated, it is considered incurable. If initially dilated, use Siwu Tang (Four Substances Decoction) added with Schisandrae Fructus (Wuweizi), Lycii Fructus (Gouqi), Ginseng Radix (Renshen), and Ziziphi Spinosae Semen (Zaoren) to consolidate and treat.
For children with strabismus (Tongjing) and dull, fixed gaze, where they intend to look east but see west, the following is suitable:
(Original text repeats the symptom description without listing specific herbs.)
For ulcerative eye conditions with parasitic infestation causing unbearable itching, the following is suitable:
Rubus Idaeus Folium (Fupenzi Ye), quantity unspecified. Grind into powder, mix with water to form a paste, spread on gauze or silk, and apply to the affected area for a short period; the parasites will emerge.
For cases involving excessive discharge with tears (Chi Lei), hot tears, or wind-induced tears, apply Saowu Dan (Sweeping Mist Pill/Elixir). However, tearing triggered by wind in autumn and winter, or frequent cold tears, indicates deficiency-type tearing. The following is suitable:
Lycii Fructus (Gouqi) 8 liang, crushed and placed in a silk bag, then put into a large jar with one bottle of high-quality yellow wine. After seven days, drink two to three zhong of warm wine every morning. Slice fresh liver with a bamboo knife, steam until cooked, and dip in Sichuan pepper salt; this will stop the tearing.
When foreign bodies (wind and sand) enter the eye, adhering to the globe and not detaching, accompanied by pain, gritty sensation, tearing, inability to open the eyes, clouding opacity (Yunyi) developing over time, and accumulation of red filaments and blood stasis: First, shape fine pumice stone (Haifushi) like a pen tip, fix it on a pen holder, dip in cool water, and grind/polish the affected area. Once the blood stasis and stagnation dissipate, then administer Tongling San (Spirit-Connecting Powder). This grinding method is also used for granules within the eyelids and thick opacities on the cornea (Zhu Shang).
