It is Xiaobanxia Tang (Minor Pinellia Decoction) with Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) removed, and Huanglian (Coptidis Rhizoma) (one liang) and Gualou Shi (Trichosanthis Fructus) (one fruit) added, used to treat minor Jie Xiong Bing (Knotting Chest Syndrome) located at the epigastrium, which is painful upon pressure.
It is Xiaobanxia Tang (Minor Pinellia Decoction), using only half a sheng of Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and one sheng of Shengjiang Zhi (Fresh Ginger Juice). Boil the Banxia in three sheng of water until two sheng remain, then add the Shengjiang Zhi (Fresh Ginger Juice) and boil further. Upon ingestion, it treats patients experiencing sensations in the chest that resemble panting but are not, resemble vomiting but are not, resemble hiccups but are not, accompanied by a sense of mental confusion and helplessness.
In Yuanrong Fang, these two ingredients are each used in amounts of three qian, decocted in water until reduced to seventy percent, taken to stop vomiting, stimulate appetite, and digest food.
Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) and Ganjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma) are taken in equal parts, pounded into powder. Take one fangcun bi (a square-inch measure) of the powder, combine with one and a half sheng of Jiangshui (fermented grain water), decoct until seven he remain, and take in one dose. It treats dry vomiting, rebellious qi, and spitting of saliva and froth.
The two ingredients are powdered equally, mixed with ginger juice to form pills the size of wutong seeds, named Wenzhong Wan (Warm the Middle Pill). Take twenty pills each time, washed down with Mugua Tang (Papaya Decoction), to treat vomiting, coughing, and spontaneous diarrhea caused by Spleen Cold.
It is Xiaobanxia Tang (Minor Pinellia Decoction) with Sanliang of Fuling (Poria) added, used to treat sudden vomiting, epigastric fullness-stuffiness, fluid retention between the diaphragm, dizziness, and palpitations. Huoren Shu calls this Banxia Banxia Tang (Major Pinellia Decoction).
Xiaoshu Dan (Summer-Heat Dispelling Elixir): Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) (one jin), Fuling (Poria) (half a jin), Sheng Gancao (Raw Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) (half a jin). Boil the Banxia in five sheng of vinegar until the vinegar is fully absorbed, dry it, and use Jiangzhi (Ginger Juice) to make a paste, ensuring no raw water is seen. Take appropriate amounts to quench thirst.
Huoren Shu calls it Jiangju Tang (Ginger and Tangerine Peel Decoction), also known as Erxian Tang (Two Sages Decoction), used to treat dry vomiting and hiccups accompanied by cold extremities; this formula is the primary treatment.
Chenpi (Tangerine Peel) (four liang), Shengjiang (Fresh Ginger) (half a jin).
Decoct the above two ingredients in seven sheng of water until three sheng remain. Take one sheng warm; upon swallowing, recovery occurs immediately.
It is Chenpi Tang (Tangerine Peel Decoction), combined with one large cup of Niurou (Cow's Milk), decocted hot, strained, and mixed with half the amount of raw Niurou (Cow's Milk), taken in one dose. It treats red and white dysentery with miraculous efficacy.
It is Chenpi Tang (Tangerine Peel Decoction) with Zhuru (Bambusae Folium), Dazao (Jujubae Fructus), Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), and Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) added, used to treat hiccups.
It is Chenpi Tang (Tangerine Peel Decoction) with Fuling (Poria) and Zhi Gancao (Prepared Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) added; another method adds Gange (Puerariae Radix), Shenqu (Massae Fermentatae Medicamentosa), and Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma) to treat rebellious coughing, resolve alcohol toxicity, and stop vomiting; yet another formula omits Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), grinds the remaining ingredients into fine powder, and processes them with refined honey into pills the size of bullet seeds, named Da Chenpi Wan (Major Tangerine Peel Pill).
