Cold Pain in Shoulders and Arms: Individuals suffering from cold pain in the shoulders and arms often find their shoulder areas particularly cold when exposed to wind-cold. They require rubbing with warm hands during the day and covering with extra blankets at night to endure it. This condition arises from deficiency of Yang Qi and decline of Qi and Blood. If not treated in advance, it may lead to conditions such as stroke with hemiplegia. One should moxa the Jianyu (LI15) and Jianliao (TE14) acupoints to prevent this affliction. Jianyu is related to the safety of both hands, while Huantiao (GB30) is related to the safety of both feet; these two points must be moxaed. For mild cases, seven moxa cones are applied; for severe wind-cold, fourteen cones are applied, or divided into two or three sessions. However, the number of cones should not be excessive to avoid causing the arm muscles to atrophy. If moxaing Huantiao (GB30), forty to fifty cones can be applied without harm.
Another method: Moxa Gao Huangshu (BL43) and Jianjing (GB21).
Arm Pain with Inability to Lift: Jianjing (GB21), Jianyu (LI15), Quchi (LI11), Yuanli (GB9), Quze (PC3) [for pulling pain in the arm and elbow], Houxi (SI3) [for neck stiffness and elbow pain], Taiyuan (LU9) [for wrist pain], Yanggu (SI5) [for forearm pain].

Hand and Foot Spasm due to Dampness: Quchi (LI11), Chize (LU5), Wangu (SI4), Waiguan (TE5), Zhongzhu (SJ3), Wuhu [located on the dorsum of the hand between the index and ring fingers, at the proximal interphalangeal joint bone prominence; take with a clenched fist; treats finger spasm].
Pain in Arms, Wrists, and Five Fingers: Wangu (SI4), Zhengzheng (SI7).
Numbness, Trembling, Curling, and Spasm of Four Limbs: Zhongzhu (SJ3).
Five Bi Syndromes (Bi syndromes caused by Wind, Cold, Damp, Heat, and Qi stagnation): Quchi (LI11), Waiguan (TE5), Hegu (LI4), Zhongzhu (SJ3), Gao Huangshu (BL43), Jianjing (GB21), Jianyu (LI15).
Bi Pain in Upper, Middle, and Lower Parts: Zusanli (ST36).

Generalized Itching and Numbness: Fengshi (GB31), Xuanzhong (GB39).
Leg Fork Wind (Lateral Femoral Cutaneous Neuralgia-like symptoms): Shenshu (BL23), Huantiao (GB30), Yanglingquan (GB34), Xuanzhong (GB39), Kunlun (BL60).
Wind-Induced Swelling and Pain in Knees: Zusanli (ST36), Yanglingquan (GB34), Yinlingquan (SP9), Taichong (LR3), Kunlun (BL60).
Heat Sensation in Feet: Yongquan (KI1), Ranggu (KI2).
Cold Pain in Knees and Shins: Ququan (LR8), Lidui (ST45).
Swelling and Pain of Knee Patella: Lidui (ST45) [when combined with Yinbai (SP1), treats nightmare].
Hong Kong Foot (Beriberi/Foot Qi): Sudden sensation of insects crawling from the sole of the foot to the waist, followed by fainting and slow recovery indicates true Hong Kong Foot. Upon initial sensation, moxa Zusanli (ST36), Xuanzhong (GB39), Jiegu (GB39 alias), Fengshi (GB31), Jianjing (GB21), Yanglingquan (GB34), Yangfu (GB38), Kunlun (BL60), Zhaohai (KI6), Taichong (LR3).
White Tiger Joint Bi (Severe Joint Pain like Rheumatoid Arthritis): Fengshi (GB31) [located 7 cun above the knee, between the two tendons on the lateral side]. Instruction: Have the patient stand upright with arms hanging straight down alongside the legs; the depression where the tip of the middle finger reaches is the point (moxa 3-5 cones). Yulong combined with Yinshi can treat weakness in legs and knees.
Calf Cramps in Both Feet: Yanglingquan (GB34), Chengshan (BL57), Qiuxu (GB40), Sanyinjiao (SP6), Zhaohai (KI6).
