Gui Yan (Ghost Eye). Qin Chengzu’s method for moxa against ghosts involves taking the Gui Ku acupoints, also known as Hand Ghost Eye and Foot Ghost Eye. The method is to bind the two thumbs together and ignite fire at four points where nail and flesh meet, moxa seven cones at each point. This treats epilepsy, nightmares, ghost strike, five types of epilepsy, dementia, and manic delusion due to Tai Yang disease, all effectively.
Those who die from nightmares at night are due to daily insufficiency of Shen Qi (Spiritual Energy), causing the Spirit to not reside in its house and the Hun (Ethereal Soul) to not attach to the body during sleep. When encountering a nightmare, one must absolutely not shine a light on the patient. Instead, call their name in the darkness to wake them. Another method: bite the side of the patient's big toenail to revive them. Another method: blow powder of Toothed Dogwood Fruit (Ya Zao) into the nose, which is also excellent. If it has lasted for one or two watches (hours), moxibustion can also be used.
Another method: moxa Dadun (LR1) seven cones to wake the patient.
