First, align the severed tendons properly, apply juice of *Inulae Flos* (Xuanfuhua) to them, and then rub with medication, wrap, and bandage.
Pound together *Crotonis Fructus* (Badou) and *Scarabaeus* (Dinglang), apply externally; after a short while, when itching occurs, it can be removed.
*Colla Corii Asini* (Ejiao) is a holy medicine for women; *Rhizoma Nymphaeae* (Oujie) is an excellent prescription for hematemesis. Stir-fried *Polygoni Multiflori Caulis et Folium* (Puhuang) can be used for hemoptysis; for bone fractures, seek *Eupolyphaga seu Steleophaga* (Tubie). *Curcumae Longae Rhizoma* (Jianghuang) breaks blood stasis; blood stasis relies on *Moutan Cortex* (Danpi) and *Sappan Lignum* (Sumu) to resolve. *Rhei Radix et Rhizoma* (Dahuang) can relieve constipation; *Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata* (Shengdihuang) is good at generating new blood. [Text implies: If wind pathogen causes unconsciousness, seek another herb; after trauma, avoid ginger, scallion, and sesame oil]. For wounds that do not heal, use *Elephantopus Scaber* (Xiangpi) and *Dragon's Blood* (Xuejie); ancient coin *Notoginseng* (Qian Sanqi) is called immortal medicine; *Corydalis Rhizoma* (Yanhusuo) is hailed as a divine product without error. For hand injuries, *Cinnamomi Ramulus* (Guizhi) should be used urgently; for blood stasis in the intestines, *Peach Kernel* (Taoren) and *Angelicae Sinensis Radix* (Danggui) are needed to descend. To dissipate swelling, *Schizonepetae Herba* (Jingjie) is beautiful; to relieve pain, *Boswelliae Resina* (Diru/Ruxiang) is praiseworthy. For head injuries, *Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma* (Chuanxiong) guides; for foot injuries, *Achyranthis Bidentatae Radix* (Niuxi) is required. To tonify blood and stop bleeding, use ginger; to eliminate blood accumulation, use *Sparganii Rhizoma* (Sanleng) and *Curcumae Rhizoma* (Ezhu). To manage waist injuries, stir-fried *Eucommiae Cortex* (Duzhong) is used; *Inulae Flos* (Xuanfuhua) and *Dipsaci Radix* (Xuduan) treat tendon injuries; "Jianzhongxiao" (likely a specific herb or symptom description) removes bruising. Olive ash stops bleeding excellently; persimmon frost cake does no harm to those with profuse bleeding. *Aucklandiae Radix* (Wuyao) and "Erxiang" are good for regulating qi; *Lycopersicon esculentum*? No, likely *Persicae Semen*? Text says *Lycoris radiata*? Actually *Ze Lan* (Lycopus Japonicus Herba) with "Jindao" is unparalleled for trauma. If later generations ask who wrote this song, it is Zhang Zifang (Zhang Liang) of the Han Dynasty.
To identify life and death prognosis from severe trauma, one must first examine the six pulses. A rising pulse indicates survival; a slow and fine pulse indicates survival; a surging and large pulse indicates death. A firm and strong pulse indicates survival; a small and weak pulse indicates death; a large pulse indicates death within twenty days. If the vital pulse is harmonious and the Guan pulse is excess, although the injury is severe, life is not threatened. If the pulse is deficient and hurried, even a light injury may result in death.
There are five types of traumatic injuries that are incurable: 1. Unawareness of pain and itch accompanied by tremors; 2. Fracture of the Tianzhu bone (axis vertebra) and injury to the Taiyang acupoint; 3. Injury to the lower abdomen involving heart damage, rupture of the scrotum; 4. Injury to the food pipe (esophagus); 5. Sweating like oil and shouting with all strength. In humans, both hands and feet have two tibiae. If one tibia is fractured, it is treatable; if both are fractured, it is incurable. Generally, for crushed or broken bones, one must clearly observe whether the injury site is level. If the bone is depressed, it means the bone itself is not fractured; examining from left and right reveals the actual injury site. One must first reduce and align the bones correctly before applying external medicines. Once the injury site is identified and bones are aligned, observe the left and right damaged areas, measure the bone gaps, and carefully manipulate the bones back into their original positions. If the top of the head is broken but the bone has not penetrated inward, it is treatable. Injuries behind the ears are incurable. Trauma sustained after a full meal, where the patient survives three days, is treatable. Tight pain in the chest and heart area, with cyanosis not covering the heart, indicates eccentric injury and is treatable. Bilateral breast injury in men is treatable and requires emergency rescue; however, in women, it is incurable. Abdominal injury with feces vomiting is incurable. Loss of Qi that cannot be retained combined with eyes not closing is incurable. Testicular injury entering the abdominal cavity is incurable. Skin abrasion without penetration into the abdomen is treatable. Cyanotic swelling at the center of the chest (heart region) is incurable. Fracture/dislocation along the spine is also an incurable condition.
