To treat painless conditions resulting from crushing or beating injuries, as well as pain in the sinews and bones. *Earthworm* (remove soil impurities, stir-fry with wine, 5 fen) *Eucommiae Cortex* (1 qian) *Boswellia Resin* *Myrrh* (remove one fen of impurities) *Achyranthes Root* *Safflower* *Costus Root* (each 2 qian) *Angelica Sinensis Tail* *Notopterygium Rhizome* (each 2.5 qian). Grind all the above into a fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose, administered with hot wine.
To treat traumatic injuries from falls and blows, as well as various wind syndromes such as wandering joint pain and soft wind pain. *Aconitum Kusnezoffii Root* (remove skin and navel, 1 liang) *Prepared Rehmannia Root* (or raw *Rehmannia Root* may also be used) *Pinellia Fermented Curd* *White Silkworm* *Lindera Root* (each 5 qian). Dry them and grind into powder. Use wine paste to make pills the size of a paulownia seed. Take seven pills per dose, swallowed with warm wine on an empty stomach, at noon, and before bed. For injured areas, mix ten pills with ginger juice and wine, grind, and apply to the affected area. For sudden collapse/unconsciousness, dissolve seven pills in ginger juice and green tea, and administer orally to restore consciousness. Adding *Earthworm* and *Dragon's Blood* is particularly effective.
Regardless of how long ago the injury occurred, efficacy is seen after one dose. *Angelica Sinensis Body* *Notopterygium Rhizome* *Scorpion Tail* *Drynaria Rhizome* *Artemisia Annua Herb* *Safflower* *Curcuma Zedoaria Rhizome* *Myrrh* (grind, remove oil, and take by washing down) *Red Peony Root* *Moutan Bark* *Lycopus Herb* *Achyranthes Root* (each 1 qian) *Raw Rehmannia Root* (2 qian) *Licorice Root* (5 qian) *Peach Kernel* (1 qian). Decoct with wine and take to induce sweating. Avoid oily, fried foods and "fa-wu" (stimulating/triggering foods).
Regarding all traumatic injuries and falls: for men, upper body injuries are easier to treat while lower body injuries are difficult to cure, because Qi ascends. For women, lower body injuries are easier to treat while upper body injuries are difficult, because Blood descends. In any injury, one must verify the location, press to determine depth, and clarify whether the toxin/injury is recent or old. Men's Qi moves from left to right and belongs to Yang; Women's Blood moves from right to left and belongs to Yin. It is most crucial to distinguish between Qi and Blood. Injuries to the anterior chest/body lead to rapid death; injuries to the back and shoulders lead to slower death. Injuries to the left side cause shortness of breath, yellowish complexion, and edema; injuries to the right side cause shortness of breath and a blood-deficient complexion. Signs of fatal prognosis include: excessive phlegm, white eyes (fixed pupils), hanging lips, loss of neck support (severe cervical injury), fecal incontinence, foul breath, squinting/diplopia, noisy breathing, wheezing with elevated chest, red and urgent ears/nose, and inability to eat or drink—all belong to fatal signs.
