[Immortal Powder for Detoxification, Muscle Regeneration, and Pain Relief] Indicated for various malignant sores and boils. It is used when heat has subsided but pus and blood continue to flow, and the granulation tissue is deficient with pain. This formula can discharge pus, relieve pain, promote muscle regeneration, and tonify the interior.
Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma) [remove the rhizome], Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix) [remove the rhizome, soak in wine], Huang Qi (Astragali Radix) [soak in salt water], Chuan Xiong (Ligustici Chuanxiong Rhizoma) [wash to remove soil], Fu Ling (Poria) [remove skin], Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [remove rhizome], Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix) [2 liang], Hou Po (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) [2 liang], Chi Xiao Dou (Vigna umbellata Seed) [5 he, soak in wine], Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) [2 pieces, remove skin, roast over fire].
If accompanied by irritability and thirst, add Wu Wei Zi (Schisandrae Chinensis Fructus), Fu Ling (Poria), Chen Pi (Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium), Bai Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), and Shu Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata).
Crush the above herbs. Add one and a half cups of water and three slices of Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens). Decoct until reduced to seven-tenths volume. Add wine and take warm.
Specifically indicated for carbuncles (Yong Ju), back carbuncles (Fa Bei), mastitis (Ru Yong), human-faced ulcers (Ren Mian), traumatic wounds from metal blades (Jin Dao), and all kinds of malignant sores, boils, and toxic swellings.
Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma) [1 liang weight], Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex) [4 liang weight], Mu Zei (Equiseti Herba) [1 liang], Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix) [1 liang], Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) [4 liang weight].
Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix) and Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) may be added.
Crush the above herbs. Place them in a large earthenware jar filled with water and decoct to make a herbal soup. Take ten jin of Lu Gan Shi (Calamina), roast it red-hot in charcoal fire, remove it with tongs, and immerse it in the herbal soup. Regardless of the number of basins, cover them and place them on the ground for one day and night to eliminate fire toxicity. Once dry, grind into an extremely fine powder. For every ten jin of this stone, mix with twenty jin of Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum), each ground separately to an extreme fineness, then blend well for use as a base for subsequent preparations.
Chi Shi Zhi (Halloysitum Rubrum) is stir-fried with Gu Jing Cao (Ecliptae Herba); these two ingredients are mixed and processed together as described above.
Nan Mu Xiang (Costi Radix), Xue Jie (Santalum Album Lignum), Jiang Zhen Jie (Daemonorops Draco), Ru Xiang (Olibanum), Mo Yao (Myrrha), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Bai Lian (Trollii Radix) [each in equal parts], Long Gu (Fossilia Ossis Mastodi) [appropriate amount].
Zhu Sha (Cinnabaris) and He Shou Wu (Polygoni Multiflori Radix) may be added. If there are worms/parasites, add Qing Fen (Calomelas), Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Bai Yao Jian (Theae Fermentatum), and Xiong Huang (Realgar). If the wound exudate does not dry, add Piao Xiao (Sepiae Endoconcha, peeled), Wu Ming Yi (Pyrolusite), and ash from burning Liao Ye (Polygoni Orientalis Folium).
Grind each of the above herbs into a fine powder, mix evenly with the previous base powder, and apply to the center of the sore.
Decoct this mixture to make a soup for washing the affected area.
Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Chi Shao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix), Gan Cao Jie (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma - joint part), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Spica), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium), Jin Yin Hua (Lonicerae Japonicae Flos), Cang Er (Xanthii Fructus), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix), He Ye Di (Nelumbinis Petiolus), Dang Gui Wei (Angelicae Sinensis Radix - tail), Ya Zao (Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus), Bai Zi Ren (Biota Orientalis Semen), Feng Fang (Vespa Nidus), Cong Bai (Allii Fistulosi Bulbus), Cha Jiao (Tea residue).
First fumigate, then wash. Use when cool. After washing clean, dry with silk cloth. Mix the aforementioned Muscle-Regenerating and Pain-Relieving Powder firmly with clear sesame oil and apply. If the wound is moist, sprinkle the dry powder; if dry, apply the paste. Bind tightly with a silk band for three to five turns. Change externally every three days without disturbing the area; efficacy will be immediate. To remove necrotic tissue, take one live Wugong (Scolopendra), kill it by soaking in oil within a bamboo tube, roast it with fire, grind into powder, add a small amount to the previous dressing powder, and apply. After one day and night, if pain persists, wash off this medicine and switch back to the previous medicine; the pain will cease, and muscle regeneration will occur.
