Women suffering from deficiency and damage of the five Zang organs, resulting in a cold and lethargic uterus (uterus), accompanied by red and white leukorrhea (abnormal vaginal discharge), night sweats, shortness of breath, aversion to cold, and fear of cold, are suitable for taking Xusi Jiangsheng Dan (Decoction for Continuing Offspring and Promoting Birth). This formula contains no bizarre or harsh purgative substances; it possesses both warming and consolidating properties. For those with deficiency-cold of the Blood Sea (Chong and Ren meridians related to menstruation and reproduction), taking this formula will yield excellent results. However, its warming power is sufficient while its tonifying power is insufficient. If Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma (Renshen), Atractylodis Macrocephalae Rhizoma (Baizhu), Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata (Shudihuang), Ligusticum Chuanxiong Rhizoma (Chuanxiong), and Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma Preparata (Zhigancao) are each added in an amount of one liang, then its efficacy in warming, tonifying, and assisting fertility will be profound. Hence, it is named: Modified Xusi Jiangsheng Dan.

Those with abundant Phlegm-Qi must be obese; obesity causes excessive fat in the lower body, leading to the contraction and inward displacement of the uterus, making fertilization difficult. Even if the male organ is long and robust, and semen is ejaculated directly into the vagina during intercourse, since dampness originates from the Bladder, there is a risk of flooding and overflow. It is appropriate to swallow Didan Wan (Pill for Eliminating Phlegm) with Didan Tang (Decoction for Eliminating Phlegm).
