The anterior yin region of the human body belongs to the Foot Jueyin Liver Meridian (Zu Jueyin Gan Jing). This condition is often caused by long-term depression and anger, where qi stagnation is suppressed and not relieved, leading to this affliction. It may also arise from excessive sexual intercourse causing injury, or from friction damage due to wearing hard clothing. The glans penis becomes rotten and ulcerated; if not cured promptly, it spreads to the shaft of the penis, a condition named "Zhugeng" (Moth-eaten Shaft). The treatment methods are the same, and one must strictly prevent minor issues from escalating. There are cases where the flesh rots away leaving the penile shaft necrotic, with lumps accumulating, completely losing its original shape, leading to death after several years. The pulse is often surging and rapid in the Chi position (Cun Kou pulse at the wrist corresponding to the Kidney/Lower Jiao). Treatment should first involve taking Jiajian Baidu San (Modified Detoxification Powder), followed by Longdan Xiegan Tang (Gentiana Decoction to Drain the Liver) (see formula for Huan Yong) or Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction). If swelling and pain are severe, one should clear Liver Fire and remove Damp-Heat; if urination is red and difficult, promote diuresis; if there is no difficulty in urination but spontaneous sweating occurs, diuretics must not be used. If diuretics are forced, Ying and Wei Qi will become depleted, failing to control Fire, and the sores will worsen.
Main Formula: Chai Hu (Bupleuri Radix, 1 qian 5 fen), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Chi Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Rubra), Chi Fu Ling (Poria with Red Hostwood), Dan Cao (Gentianae Radix) (each 9 fen); Cang Zhu (Atractylodis Rhizoma), Zhi Mu (Anemarrhenae Rhizoma), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba), Lian Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Mu Tong (Akebiae Caulis) (each 7 fen); Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Du Huo (Angelicae Pubescentis Radix) (each 6 fen); Gan Cao Shao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma tip, 3 fen). Add Deng Xin Cao (Junci Medulla) 20 stalks, decoct in water, and take on an empty stomach. If Biandu (Groin Abscess) develops, add Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma); if Heat is severe, add Zhi Zi (Gardeniae Fructus) and Hua Shi (Talcum), and remove Cang Zhu; if there are alternating chills and fever, add Huang Qin (Scutellariae Radix) and Ze Xie (Alismatis Rhizoma); if both urine and stool are obstructed, Ba Zheng San (Eight-Herb Rectifying Powder) should be taken (see formula for Lin syndrome).
Liangxue Jiedu Wan (Cool Blood and Detoxify Pill): First take Baidu San, then the Main Formula. If not fully healed, this pill can be prepared and taken again.
Ingredients: Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix, 8 liang), Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma, 4 liang), Lian Qiao (Forsythiae Fructus), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Shi Gao (Gypsum Fibrosum) (each 1.5 liang), Niu Bang Zi (Arctii Fructus), Sheng Di Huang (Rehmanniae Radix), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Da Huang (Rhei Radix et Rhizoma) (each 1 liang).
Grind all into fine powder, use Jing Jie decoction to make paste pills the size of tung seeds. Take 100 pills per dose, on an empty stomach, with warm water. If chronic and unhealed, Liuwei Dihuang Wan (Six-Ingredient Rehmannia Pill) is suitable.
External Application Formula: Ji Zhong Huang Pi (Yellow skin inside chicken gizzard, kept dry, cleaned, fire-roasted, ground to fine powder, 1 qian), Hai Er Cha (Catechu, separately ground, 8 fen), Zhen Zhu (Pearl, separately ground, 3 fen), Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 2 fen).
Grind evenly, wash the area clean with Mi Tan Shui (rice washing water), and apply externally.
Another Formula: Ku Fan (Alumen Exsiccatum), Xiong Huang (Realgar), Zhen Zhu (Pearl), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex, separately ground), Qian Fen (Cerussa) (equal parts).

Grind evenly into fine powder, wash with tea water. For damp lesions, sprinkle dry powder; for dry lesions, mix with Pig Bile for application.
Xuang San (Dark Frost Powder): Used for Xia Gang (Chancre) and Zhugeng, it can regenerate rotting penile tissue and treat various toxic sores that do not heal for a long time, promoting contraction. For tongue injuries, rinse with Ru Mo Tang (Olibanum and Myrrha Decoction) to relieve pain, then apply this medicine.
Ingredients: Hei Qian (Black Lead, 5 qian). Melt in a copper spoon, add Shui Yin (Mercurius, 2.5 qian), stir well, pour out, and grind until no shiny particles remain. Add Ruan Shi Gao (Calcined Gypsum Fibrosum, 3.5 qian), Zhen Qing Fen (Calomelas, 2.5 qian), Ming Peng Sha (Borax, 1 qian), Zhen Zhu (Pearl, separately ground very fine, 5 fen), Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum, 3 fen).
Grind together uniformly, store in a porcelain bottle. When using, decoct Cong Bai (Scallion White), Jiao Hua (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), and Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) in water. Place in a jar, fumigate the area until warm, wash clean, then apply medicine. For dry lesions, moisten with Pig Bile before sprinkling.
Washing Formula: Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Huang Bo (Phellodendri Cortex), Dang Gui (Angelicae Sinensis Radix), Bai Zhi (Angelicae Dahuricae Radix), Qiang Huo (Notopterygii Rhizoma et Radix), Fang Feng (Saposhnikoviae Radix), Jing Jie (Schizonepetae Herba), Ku Shen (Sophorae Flavescentis Radix) (equal parts).

Another Formula: Huang Lian (Coptidis Rhizoma), Wa Song (Parmelia Symbiotica), Hua Jiao (Zanthoxyli Pericarpium), Cong Gen (Allii Fistulosi Radix), Chuan Bi Xie (Dioscoreae Hypoglaucae Rhizoma), Ai Ye (Artemisiae Argyi Folium) (equal parts).
Decoct in water, wipe and wash with a blue cloth. If itching, add Xiao (Mirabilite) and Fan (Alumen), repeat shortly.
Simple Method: Liu Yi San (Six-to-One Powder) added with Qing Fen (Calomelas) and Bing Pian (Borneolum Syntheticum), ground evenly. For damp lesions, sprinkle dry powder; for dry lesions, mix with Pig Bile for application.
Another Method: Wash tangled hair thoroughly, burn to ash, and apply externally.
Another Method: Roast Ji Zhong Pi (Chicken gizzard skin), grind to fine powder, and apply.
Case: A patient had persistent penile swelling, which ulcerated leading to swelling, pain, fever, and dysuria. A child had similar swelling and pain. Both were treated by decocting Xiao Chaihu Tang (Minor Bupleurum Decoction) (see Shanghan chapter) and swallowing Danggui Longhui Wan (Angelica and Gardenia Pill) (see Xietong chapter), resulting in recovery.
