Abdominal pain in infants, with the waist bent, crying without tears, sweating on the forehead, closed mouth, cold feet, and dryness of the upper lip, are the signs of this condition.

Infants have tender and weak Qi and Blood, and their skin and pores (Couli) are not dense. If clothing and bedding are too thick, it generates heat in the Zang-Fu organs. The Heart is overcome by pathogenic heat, causing Jin-Ye (body fluids) to fail to be stored internally, steaming out through the body surface and manifesting as sweating. Alternatively, injury from cold or heat leads to disharmony of Yin and Yang, causing Jin-Ye to leak externally; or there is spontaneous sweating after various illnesses. It is appropriate to nourish Heart Qi and consolidate the Couli. If sweating extends from the head down to the neck, it is called "Six-Yang Deficient Sweating" and does not require treatment.

This is due to Cold in the Bladder, which fails to control water (urine). Bed-wetting indicates that both the Bladder and Kidney are Cold. Night belongs to Yin, so urine flows out spontaneously.
