All cases arise from prolonged suffering from diarrhea and dysentery, causing the head of the large intestine to protrude from the anus. Some cases are caused by heat in the large intestine; it is appropriate to use green onion decoction for steaming and washing, allowing the tissue to soften before manually reducing it. Alternatively, use a decoction of Chinese Gallnut (Galla Chinensis) with alum for fumigation and washing to reduce the prolapse.
Main Formula: Ochre (Longgu), Pericarpium Diospyros Kaki Fructus (Hezi Rou), Red Kaolin (Chishizhi), Poppy Shell (Suhuang - moistened, tendons removed, stir-fried with vinegar, 2 qian each), Myrobalan (Moushizi - 2 pieces). Grind all into fine powder. Take 1 qian per dose. On an empty stomach, take with rice water. If there is heat, add Scutellaria Root (Huangqin) and Coptis Rhizome (Lian).
Another Prescription: Wash with a decoction of Saposhnikovia Root (Fangfeng) and Schizonepeta Spike (Jingjie). Grind Litharge (Mituo Seng), Alum (Bai Fan), and Borneol (Bingpian) into powder and apply externally.
Another Prescription: Grind Castor Seed (Bimazi) into a paste and apply to the top of the head (Baihui acupoint); wash off immediately after the intestine reduces. Alternatively, wash with a decoction of Sophora Root (Kushen).
Another Prescription: If the protruding intestinal head itches, it indicates parasites. Wash with a decoction of Fresh Mugwort Leaf (Sheng Ai) and Toosendan Root (Chuanliangen).
Hemorrhoid Prescription: Lead Tetroxide (Huandan), Talcum Powder (Huashi).
Grind into fine powder, mix with water, and apply five times daily. The method for supporting/reducing is seen in the adult "Rectal Prolapse" section.
This condition arises from insufficient paternal essence and deficient maternal blood. After birth, the sinews and bones are flaccid; the head, neck, hands, feet, and body are weak and soft, termed "Five Flaccidities" (Wu Ruan). If the head is stiff and cannot look down, qi is congested in the chest and diaphragm, and the palms and soles are cold like stone and hard, it is termed "Five Stiffnesses" (Wu Ying). Additionally, if the abdomen is distended with visible blue veins but not wide, it should be treated with drugs that remove accumulation. (Xieqing Wan can treat Five Stiffnesses and Five Flaccidities.)
