Song of Acupoints on the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao Meridian:
The Qi and Blood of the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao (Triple Burner) meridian originate here, with twenty-three acupoints starting from Guanchong (LI1). Proceeding to Yemen (TE2), Zhongzhu (TE3), Yangchi (TE4), passing through Waiguan (TE5), Zhigou (TE6), Huizong (TE7). Then entering Sanyangluo (TE8), flowing into Tianjing (TE10) and Qinglengyuan (TE11). Followed by Xiaoluo (TE12), Hui (Jianliao, TE14), Jianliao (TE14), as well as Tianliao (TE15), Tianyou (TE16), and Yifeng (TE23). Juesun (SJ19), Luxi (TE19), Jiaosun (TE20) enter sequentially, finally Ermen (TE21), He'liao (TE22), and Sizhukong (TE23).
Guanchong (TE1): Located at the ulnar side of the tip of the ring finger, approximately the width of a leek leaf from the nail corner. It is the "Jing-Well" point where the Hand-Shaoyang Sanjiao meridian emerges. Needle depth 1 fen, retain for three breaths, moxa 3 cones.
Indications: Headache, dry mouth, Bi syndrome of the throat (swollen and obstructed pharynx), Huoluan (cholera-like disorder), Qi obstruction in the chest leading to anorexia, pain in the elbow and arm preventing elevation, blurred vision. Another view holds that this point treats Heat-Fire pathogenic factors in the Sanjiao, manifesting as thirst, cracked lips, and foul breath; bleeding via pricking is indicated.
