Thirty-Six Methods of Da Jian (Great Interspace) and Xiao Jian (Small Interspace) in Si Tian (Heavenly Ruler) Transformation
1. Jia Zi Year Counter-Transformation: The Heavenly Qi is deficient, and the Central Yun (Mid-cycle Movement) does not assist the Heavenly Qi; this is termed Da Jian (Great Interspace). "Da Jian" implies that both the Left and Right Jian Qi (Interspace Qi) participate in the command of Si Tian. When the Heavenly Stem is an odd number (Yang), the sequence begins with the Left Jian Qi followed by the Right Jian Qi. When it is an even number (Yin), it begins with the Right Jian Qi. "Jian" refers to the Left and Right Jian Qi following the command of Si Tian. Since the Jian Qi lies between the Heavenly commands, the Heavenly command cannot transform independently into its correct state.
2. Bing Zi Year Counter-Transformation: The Heavenly Qi is deficient, and the Central Yun does not assist the Heavenly Qi; this is Da Jian. Both Left and Right Jian Qi participate. For odd numbers, Left Jian precedes Right Jian; for even numbers, Right Jian precedes Left Jian.
3. Wu Zi Year Counter-Transformation: The Heavenly Qi is deficient, but the Central Yun assists the Heavenly Qi, aligning its command with Fire Yun; this is termed Xiao Jian (Small Interspace). "Xiao Jian" implies only one Jian Qi participates. If the year stem is odd, the Left Jian participates while the Right does not; if even, the Right Jian participates while the Left does not.
