(There are fifty-four acupoints in total on both sides.)
The "Chapter on Meridians" states: The Kidney is the Foot-Shaoyin meridian. It originates below the little toe, slants towards the sole of the foot (Yongquan KI-1), emerges below Ran'gu (Rangu KI-2).
It follows behind the medial malleolus (Zhaohai KI-6, Shuiquan KI-5), branches into the heel (Taixi KI-3, Dazhong KI-4). Above this, it is on the medial side (Fuliu KI-7, Jiaoxin KI-8, Sanyinjiao SP-6, Zhubin KI-9). It emerges from the medial margin (Yingu KI-10), ascends along the posterior medial aspect of the thigh, penetrates the spine (Changqiang GV-1), belongs to the Kidney and connects with the Bladder (Henggu KI-11, Dahe KI-12, Qixue KI-13, Siman KI-14, Zhongzhu KI-15, Huangshu KI-16, Guanyuan KI-4, Zhongji KI-3). Its straight branch ascends from the Kidney, passes through the Liver and diaphragm (Shangqu KI-17, Shiguan KI-18, Yindu KI-19, Tonggu KI-20, Youmen KI-21), enters the Lung (Bulang BL-22, Shenfeng BL-23, Lingxu BL-24, Shencang BL-25, Zhongfu LU-1, Yufo BL-26). It follows the throat and flanks the root of the tongue. Its branch emerges from the Lung, connects with the Heart, and pours into the chest.
It also states: The collateral vessel of the Foot-Shaoyin is named Dazhong. Located behind the ankle, it circles the heel and branches off to the Taiyang meridian. Another branch travels along the main channel upwards to the Pericardium, and downwards externally through the loins and spine.
The "Chapter on Qi Orifices" states: On the underside of the tongue for the Foot-Shaoyin, and the Ji Mai point in the pubic hair region, there is one each. (Secondary note: The two points of Foot-Shaoyin under the tongue are located in the depression anterior to Renying ST-7, anterior to the arterial pulse, which is called the root of the tongue, one on each side. Ji Mai is located on both sides of the Yin region within the pubic hair.)
The "Chapter on Extraordinary Vessels" states: The regular pathway of the Foot-Shaoyin reaches the popliteal fossa, branches to the Taiyang meridian and joins, ascends to the Kidney, at the level of the fourteenth vertebra, emerges to belong to the Dai Mai (Girdle Vessel). The straight part ties to the root of the tongue, re-emerges at the nape, and joins with the Taiyang.
The "Chapter on Sinews" states: The sinew channel of the Foot-Shaoyin originates below the little toe, runs parallel with the sinew channel of the Foot-Taiyin, slants towards the lower aspect of the medial malleolus, knots at the calcaneus, combines with the sinew channel of the Taiyang and ascends to knot below the medial condyle of the tibia, runs parallel with the sinew channel of the Taiyin and ascends along the medial thigh, knots at the genitalia, runs along the interior of the spine, flanks the paravertebral muscles and ascends to the nape, knots at the occiput, and combines with the sinew channel of the Foot-Taiyang.
Yongquan KI-1 (Where the Qi of the Foot-Shaoyin meridian issues) Rangu KI-2 (Where the Qi flows; *Wai Tai Mi Yao* reads Liu; *Zhen Jiu Ju Ying* says: Branches from the Taiyin, origin of the Chong Mai, where the Qi of the Foot-Shaoyin meridian flows) Taixi KI-3 (Where the Qi is injected) Dazhong KI-4 (Branches to Taiyang, collateral of Foot-Shaoyin) Zhaohai KI-6 (Where the Yin Qiao Mai arises) Shuiquan KI-5 (Where the Qi is abundant) Fuliu KI-7 (Where the Qi travels) Jiaoxin KI-8 (Xi-Cleft point of Yin Qiao Mai) Zhubin KI-9 (Xi-Cleft point of Yin Wei Mai) Yingu KI-10 (Where the Qi enters) Henggu KI-11 Dahe KI-12 Qixue KI-13 Siman KI-14 Zhongzhu KI-15 Huangshu KI-16 Shangqu KI-17 Shiguan KI-18 Yindu KI-19 Tonggu KI-20 Youmen KI-21 (From Henggu to here, eleven points are intersections of the Chong Mai and Foot-Shaoyin meridian) Bulang BL-22 Shenfeng BL-23 Lingxu BL-24 Shencang BL-25 Zhongfu LU-1 Yufo BL-26 (From Bulang downwards, six points are where the Qi of the Foot-Shaoyin meridian develops.)
According to the "Chapter on Bone Emptiness": The Chong Mai originates at Qichong ST-30, runs alongside the Shaoyin meridian, ascends flanking the umbilicus to the chest where it disperses. In the *Jia Yi Jing*, the eleven points from Henggu to Youmen are all stated as intersections of the Chong Mai, originally based on this. *Xue Xue Zhe Zhong* includes Lianquan CV-23.
