(Attached: Jin Chuang / Metal Wounds)
For carbuncles and sores (Yong Ju), moxibustion is appropriate; for Ding poison (Ding Chuang), acupuncture is appropriate. Obvious Ding is easy to treat, while hidden Ding is difficult to cure. Ding occurring on the mouth, ears, eyes, and nose is obvious; Ding occurring on the limbs is hidden and hard to prevent. If mistaken for Taiyang disease (Taiyang Bing) upon onset and not treated within half a day, the toxin will likely "walk yellow" (Zou Huang) and enter the Heart, causing coma. If detected early, urgently use an acupuncture needle or magnetic peak to prick two to three fen deep, squeeze out the foul blood, and apply Li Ma Hui Ding Dan into the puncture hole. If the pill is hard to find temporarily, crushed snail with shell can be applied externally; or crushed root of Chrysanthemum indicum (Juhua Gen) can be applied. Internally, take Mei Hua Dian She Dan or Chan Su Wan, one to two doses, washed down with hot wine mixed with Juhua Gen juice. One must use Dan Cao Zhen (Gallbladder Grass Needle) swiftly and must not delay, lest time be wasted.
Whenever yellow blisters or purple-black spots appear on the hands or feet with a red line extending like a thread, one should urgently use a needle to prick at the very end of the red line to release toxic blood. If not pricked, the toxin will enter the intestines and stomach, becoming incurable. However, Dao Lian Ding (Knife-Sickle Ding) is contraindicated for pricking (it is as wide and narrow as a leek, one cun long, with black flesh on the left side resembling a burn mark). After pricking, apply ash from burning Motherwort leaf (Yimu Cao Ye) fumigated and charred. The formula uses three qian of Alum powder (Ming Fan Mo) and seven stalks of Scallion white (Cong Bai), crushed together and divided into seven portions. Each portion is taken with a cup of hot wine, covered with blankets. If there is no sweating, drink another cup of Cong Bai Tang (Scallion White Decoction); after sweating occurs, gradually remove the blankets, and the illness will feel as if it has vanished. Avoid wind-cold, sexual intercourse, alcohol, meat, fishy odors, garlic, pepper, spicy foods, greasy food, and cold/raw items. (From *Dan Fang Ji Yan*)
Ding Poison (For severe cases, two doses lead to recovery)
One earthen wasp nest (Tu Feng Fang), one snake slough (She Tui), sealed firmly with yellow mud, burned until carbonized but retaining efficacy, then ground into powder. Take one qian with good wine on an empty stomach; severe pain will follow shortly. Once the pain subsides...
Zhui Ding Duo Ming Dan (Pursuing Ding and Snatching Life Pill)
Qiang Huo, Du Huo, Qing Pi, Gan Cao Jie (Licorice Joint), Huang Lian, Chi Shao, Xi Xin, Chan Tui, Jiang Can, Jin Si Chong Lou, Fang Feng, Ze Lan.
If pus is present, add He Shou Wu and Bai Zhi; if purgation is needed, add Qing Mu Xiang, Da Huang, Zhi Zi, and Qian Niu; if the toxin is in the lower body, add Mu Gua. All ingredients in equal parts, take five qian per dose. First, decoct one dose with one liang each of Ze Lan and Yin Hua (Jin Yin Hua), and ten slices of Ginger, reducing to half volume. Take hot until sweating occurs. As the disease recedes, add two qian of Da Huang, decoct hot, and induce one or two bowel movements to eliminate residual toxin. This formula works miraculously, hitting the mark every time. If there is mental restlessness and vomiting, add one qian of Gan Cao Jie and one qian of Lu Dou Fen, taken with Suan Jiang (Fermented Rice Water); if there is retching and nausea, add Ru Xiang and Lu Dou Fen, taken with Gan Cao Tang. (From *Chi Shui Xuan Zhu*)
Chan Su Ru Xiang Gao (Toad Venom and Frankincense Ointment)
Chan Su (dissolved in wine), Sha (Mineral Salt/Nuo Sha), Bai Ding Xiang, Qing Fen, each one qian; one roasted Centipede (Wu Gong); two qian of Cinnabar (Zhu Sha); six fen of Frankincense (Ru Xiang); one fen of Musk (She Xiang); five fen of Jin Ding Pi (Golden-topped Arsenic).
(Preparation: One jin of Sichuan Lead is melted over charcoal fire in a small jar. Two liang of Bai Pi (White Arsenic) are added until the lead melts and absorbs the arsenic completely, until smoke ceases. Remove, cool, open, and scrape off the Jin Ding Pi that has crystallized on the lead surface for use.)
Grind all into powder and mix with paste to form pills the size of wheat grains. For any Ding Chuang, after pricking with a needle, insert one pill into the hole and cover with a plaster. Efficacy is achieved when the Ding toxin is drawn out.
Xiao Duo Ming San (Little Life-Stealing Powder - Treats Ding Chuang and Brain Carbuncle/Evil Toxin, miraculous effect)
Huai Hua Zi, Di Ding, Qian Tou Zi (which is Sao Zhou Zi/Broom Corn) in equal parts.
Decoct in water and take warm throughout the day. Adding a little Chan Su is especially excellent. (From *Wan Bing Hui Chun*)
Lan Tou Ding (Rotting Head Ding)
A handful of White Chrysanthemum Root (Bai Ju Hua Gen), two White Plums (Bai Mei), two large Slugs (Yan You).
Crush together, apply with transparent Realgar (Xiong Huang) externally. Reapply if dry. Changing once or twice guarantees recovery. (Repeatedly Verified Formula)
Zha Ma Ding (Horse-Tying Ding)
Do not eat meat under any circumstances. Decoct Che Qian Cao (Plantain Herb), Zi Hua Di Ding (Viola Yedoensis), and Che Qian Cao in raw Bai Jiu (White Wine) and take. Recovery ensues. (From *Mi Fang Ji Yan*)
Jin Chuang (Metal Wound)
Urgently wash the affected area with one's own urine. Thirst will inevitably arise; do not drink water. Only consume fatty/greasy foods to quench thirst. If thin porridge is eaten, the blood will boil and flow out...
Another Formula
On the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, crush mice with Duan Shi (Calcined Iron Ore/Sulfide) and store. Apply to Jin Chuang for miraculous effect. (Formula by Li Shizhen)
Jin Chuang Chu Xue (Metal Wound Bleeding)
Long Gu (Dragon Bone) two qian; Bai Fan (Alum) one liang (half raw, half calcined); Wu Bei Zi (Galla Chinensis) two liang (half raw, half roasted); Ru Xiang (Frankincense) and Mo Yao (Myrrh) three qian each; Wu Ming Yi (Haematite) one liang.
Grind into powder, apply dry to the wound. Prevents suppuration and protects against wind. Stops bleeding and pain instantly, regenerates flesh miraculously. (From Cai Yi Shu)
Alternative Method: Wu Bei Zi and Jiang Zhen Xiang in equal parts, stir-fried and ground into powder for application. Skin and flesh heal naturally. (Recorded from Huai De Tang)
