Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) six liang, Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) three liang (bark removed), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang, Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three liang (sliced), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) twelve pieces (torn open).
The above five herbs are coarsely crushed. Decoct with seven sheng of water to obtain three sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs. Take one sheng warm.
Gui Zhi Jia Shao Yao Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus White Peony Root) employs the method of "using Yin to harmonize Yang." Its subtlety lies in utilizing a formula for Taiyang disease (disease of the Taiyang channel) to treat Taiyin disease (disease of the Taiyin spleen-stomach), addressing symptoms of abdominal fullness and intermittent pain, which arise from deficiency in the Yin channels (specifically the Spleen channel).
Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) three liang (bark removed), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) four liang, Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) four liang (sliced), Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Ren Shen (Ginseng Radix) three liang, Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) twelve pieces (torn open).
The above six herbs are coarsely crushed. Decoct with twelve sheng of water to obtain three sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs. Take one sheng warm.
Gui Zhi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction) harmonizes Ying (Nutrient Qi) and Wei (Defensive Qi) with precision. Gui Zhi and Sheng Jiang harmonize the Wei Qi, while Shao Yao and Da Zao harmonize the Ying Qi. By following the principle of Gui Zhi Ren Shen Tang (Cinnamon Twig and Ginseng Decoction), the focus shifts towards... [text incomplete].
Ge Gen (Puerariae Lobatae Radix) four liang, Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) two liang (bark removed), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) two liang, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three liang (sliced), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) twelve pieces (torn open).
The above six herbs are decocted with ten sheng of water. First, boil Ge Gen alone until the volume reduces by two sheng. Then add the remaining herbs. Decoct to obtain three sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs. Take one sheng warm.
Gui Zhi Jia Ge Gen Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Kudzu Root) treats pathogenic factors originating from the Taiyang channel that have just begun to involve the Yangming channel (Yangming channel disease). By adding Ge Gen to the formula, it acts preemptively at the site of transmission to attack the pathogen in the Yangming channel.
Gui Zhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus) three liang (bark removed), Shao Yao (Paeoniae Radix Alba) three liang, Gan Cao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma) two liang (honey-fried), Sheng Jiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) three liang (sliced), Da Zao (Jujubae Fructus) twelve pieces (torn open), Fu Zi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata) one piece (processed, bark removed, broken into eight pieces).
The above six herbs are coarsely crushed. Decoct with seven sheng of water to obtain three sheng of liquid. Remove the dregs. Take one sheng warm.
Gui Zhi Jia Fu Zi Tang (Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Prepared Aconite) treats external loss of Yang Qi and internal depletion of body fluids. Although cooked Fu Zi can tonify Yang, its nature is ultimately drying and damaging to fluids, leading to stiffness and inability to flex or extend the limbs. This condition arises because fluid dryness causes... [text incomplete].
