Noupu (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex), eight liang (peeled and stir-fried); Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), eight liang (sliced); Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), half sheng (washed); Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), one liang; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), two liang (stir-fried).

Taiyin disease (Disease of the Taiyin stage) typically presents with abdominal fullness, indicating injury to the middle jiao (Middle Burner). This differs from the treatment of abdominal distension caused by pathogenic factors entering the interior after emetic or purgative therapies. Noupu (Magnoliae Officinalis Cortex) expands the chest and directs rebellious Qi downward; Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens) disperses fullness and raises Yang Qi.
Xuanfuhua (Inulae Flos), three liang; Daizheshi (Haematitum), one liang; Shengjiang (Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens), five liang (sliced); Dazao (Jujubae Fructus), twelve pieces (split open); Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), two liang; Banxia (Pinelliae Rhizoma), half sheng (washed).
Take the above seven herbs, add ten dou of water, decoct to obtain six sheng, remove the dregs, decoct again to obtain three sheng, take one sheng warm each time, three times a day.
Xuanfu Daizhe Shi Tang (Inula and Hematite Decoction) is a formula that anchors Yin and promotes Yang, used to treat eructation (belching). Eructation is a sound arising from pathology in the Upper Jiao (Upper Burner). When the Spleen loses its function of ascending clear Qi and the Lung loses its function of descending turbid Qi, Yin becomes excessive.
Chishizhi (Halloysitum Rubrum), one jin (crushed); Yuyuliang (Leucogynii Oolithes), one jin (crushed).
Take the above two herbs, add six sheng of water, decoct to obtain two sheng, remove the dregs, take three times a day.
When Zhang Zhongjing treats lower jiao (Lower Burner) incontinence, he heavily employs astringent herbs. This is likely because the Yangming channel fails to close and the Taiyin channel opens exclusively, causing the gates of the lower jiao to be completely withdrawn. If Lizhong Tang (Regulate the Middle Decoction)...
Shaoyao (Paeoniae Radix Alba), three liang; Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), three liang; Fuzi (Aconiti Lateralis Radix Praeparata), one piece (processed, peeled, broken into eight pieces).
Take the above three herbs, add five sheng of water, decoct to obtain one sheng and five he, remove the dregs, divide into three warm doses.
Shaoyao Gancao Fuzi Tang (Peony, Licorice, and Prepared Aconite Decoction) is a formula for concurrent Taiyang and Shaoyin diseases. Taiyang disease leading to collapse of Yang fundamentally stems from Shaoyin failing to maintain internal stability; Shaoyin exterior syndrome with aversion to cold actually arises from Taiyang...
Gancao (Glycyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma), four liang (stir-fried); Guizhi (Cinnamomi Ramulus), three liang (peeled); Renshen (Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma), two liang; Huomaren (Cannabis Semen), half sheng; Shengdihuang (Rehmanniae Radix), one jin; Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini), two liang; Maidong (Ophiopogonis Radix), half sheng.
Take the above nine herbs, add seven sheng of clear wine and eight sheng of water, first decoct the eight herbs to obtain three sheng, remove the dregs, add Ejiao (Colla Corii Asini) and melt until completely dissolved, take one sheng warm each time, three times a day.
Zhigancao Tang (Honey-Fried Licorice Decoction) was used by Zhang Zhongjing to treat palpitations, by Wang Tao to treat lung萎 (lung atrophy/flaccidity), and by Sun Simiao to treat deficiency exhaustion. All three conditions belong to syndromes of fluid depletion and dryness invasion. The *Suwen* (Plain Questions) records...
