Bencao (Compendium of Materia Medica) states: Shudihuang (Prepared Rehmannia Root), Maidong (Ophiopogon Tuber), and Cheqianzi (Plantago Seed) work well in combination to treat chronic Neizhang Eye (a type of internal cataract or lens opacity). Repeated trials confirm this. The method is as follows: finely grind and sieve the herbs, mix with honey to make pills the size of Sophora japonica seeds. Each dose is taken with warm wine or warm water at will. However, since these three herbs are all moistening and difficult to grind, they should be roasted and ground immediately before use. When mixed, they possess an exceptionally sweet and fragrant aroma; truly a miraculous medicine.

As long as the sclera is not dry or damaged, taking this medicine can regenerate the pupil and restore vision completely. Source: *Wufu*. Cang Yuanming, Grand Commandant of the Han Dynasty, was blind in both eyes for fifteen years. Both pupils were damaged, with opacities like clouds, and the black part of the eye swollen like nipples. He was seventy years old at the time. After taking this wine for one hundred days, myriad diseases...
Fill a container with hot water, preferably made of copper. Scoop the water with your hand and apply it as a compress to the eyes. Keep the eyes tightly closed and do not open them; do not rub the eyes with hands. Just pour the water over the eyes. Stop when the water cools down. If suffering from eye disease, perform this three to four times a day; if healthy, twice a day. Pouring water brightens the eyes. This is the best method for treating Red Eye Disease (conjunctivitis) and eyelid itching. Since I was eighteen, reading small characters at night caused me severe eye pain, lasting thirty years. Using this medical method, I was permanently cured. Shao Xingzong, Secretary-General, suffered from blurred vision. Using this method, after more than a year, he could read small characters under a lamp. Generally, blood flows smoothly and nourishes when warmed; the eyes rely entirely on blood nourishment. If affected by wind or stomach cold, applying Gui Pi Tang (Restore the Spleen Decoction) is extremely beneficial for the eyes.
