Rongyan (Arsenopyrite/Hematite contextually referred to as "magnet stone" here, likely a textual variation or specific local name for a mineral like Magnetite or Hematite used for its heavy settling properties): Its nature and flavor are acrid and salty; its color is black, corresponding to Water. It guides the Qi of Lung Metal into the Kidney to tonify the Kidney and benefit essence, and settles deficient heat. It is a specialized drug for settling Yin deficiency. Those that can attract iron are of good quality. Preparation: Soak in salt water and grind for use.
Daizheshi (Hematite): Bitter and sweet in flavor, neutral in nature. It enters the blood aspect of the Liver and Pericardium. It settles the Liver, harmonizes blood, descends rebellious Qi, and eliminates belching. Preparation: Quench in vinegar, finely grind, and use.
Huashi (Talcum): Sweet and sour in flavor, cold in nature. It benefits the Liver, brightens the eyes, opens orifices, and promotes urination. Those with a hollow center containing moisture are superior.
Danfan (Chalcanthite/Vitriol): Also known as Shidan. Sour, astringent, and acrid in flavor, warm in nature. It enters the Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian. Its nature is convergent and ascending; it can induce vomiting to expel wind-heat phlegm-saliva and disperse Wind-Liver ministerial fire. Those that磨 (grind) to a copper color are authentic. Burn to ash, grind into powder, and sprinkle on nasal carbuncles with erosion and rot.
Xionghuang (Realgar): Acrid and hot in nature, toxic. It treats firm masses, persistent cold, bi-syndrome due to cold-dampness, and wind pathogens. There are white and grayish varieties. It resembles arsenic but causes injury if not refined.
Cihuang (Orpiment): Bitter, acrid, and sour in flavor, extremely hot and highly toxic. Internally taken, it attacks phlegm and arrests malaria; externally applied, it removes putrefaction and kills parasites. It is the mineral offspring of Tin. The refined form is called Pishuang (Arsenic Trioxide), which is also extremely potent. For poisoning, raw sheep blood or mung bean juice can detoxify it.
Qingmengshi (Blue Calamine/Mica Schist): Sweet and salty in flavor, slightly toxic. Heavy in texture and green in color, it enters the Liver to calm the Liver, direct Qi downward, soften hardness, and resolve phlegm. It is a specialized drug for stubborn phlegm and mass accumulation. After calcining with Niter until exhausted, it turns golden in color. Finely grind and process by water levigation for use.
Huarushi (Flower Milk Stone): Sour and astringent in flavor, neutral in nature. It enters the blood aspect of the Liver meridian, transforming stasis blood into fluid, and stops bleeding from sores. Grind and process by water levigation for use. If there is no stasis or rebellion, do not administer lightly.
Haijinsha (Lygodium Spores): Sweet and cool in nature. It unblocks strangury, moves damp-heat, benefits orifices, and facilitates difficult labor. Decoct for juice, rub for juice, or grind into powder and process by water levigation; all methods are usable.
Shijueming (Abalone Shell): Sour and cold in nature. It treats blindness (qing-mang) and corneal opacities, and epidemic febrile diseases. This stone resembles a crab. Finely grind and process by water levigation for use.

Translating based on text properties*): Salty and cold in nature. Enters the Heart and Kidney meridians to drain heat and moisten dryness, soften hardness, kill parasites, and resolve toxicity from all meat/fish products. Contraindicated in edema.
