The Five Zang Organs are: Heart, Liver, Spleen, Lung, and Kidney. The Six Fu Organs are: Small Intestine, Large Intestine, Stomach, Gallbladder, Sanjiao (Triple Burner), and Bladder. The Lung is located at the highest position, serving as the canopy (Hua Gai) for all other organs. It has six lobes and two ear-like structures, and governs the storage of Po (Corporeal Soul). The Heart is located below the Lung, with a half-hanging shape resembling an unopened lotus flower, possessing seven apertures and three hairs, and governs the storage of Shen (Spirit). Below the Heart is the Diaphragm; below the Diaphragm is the Stomach, which governs the containment of water and grain. On the left is the Liver, with three lobes on the left and four on the right, governing the storage of Hun (Ethereal Soul). The Gallbladder is located between the short lobes of the Liver, containing three he of essence juice. On the right is the Spleen, governing the storage of Yi (Intellect). Below the Stomach is the remainder structure. The Large Intestine is located to the right of the umbilicus, with forty-six curves, governing the transmission of clear turbidity and feces. Below the Large Intestine is the umbilicus; below the umbilicus is the Bladder, governing the storage of urine. Below the seventh vertebral process of the spinal column, the left side is the Kidney, governing the storage of Zhi (Willpower); the right side is the Mingmen (Gate of Life), governing the storage of Jing (Essence). Therefore, it is said that what is referred to as "Zang" are the Zang-Fu organs.
